Gizmo in MultiVersus has a Support class. On this page of the guide, you can learn how to utilize him best when fighting other players or AI-controlled opponents.
General tips
Despite the fact that Gizmo is not a complicated character, it's worth reading his general tips to make you even better:
- When using special upper attack, Gizmo jumps on the shoulder of his ally, granting them a number of buffs. He can put music on them, which, with a good dodge, will damage enemies and cast a silence timer on them. By hugging a hero from your team, you remove their negative statuses.
- When you are on an ally, you will still receive some damage if that character is attacked by enemies.
- Gizmo can block projectiles with a special down attack. He then enters the chest that creates a barrier. If you are on an ally, you will pull out an umbrella which has the same effect.
- By creating notes with a special neutral attack, you cast music on allies or opponents. If your projectile passes through the notes, they will follow the enemy.
- Notes can even stick to the popcorn you create with your normal up attack. Then, when you shoot popcorn, all the accumulated melodies will splash and fly towards the enemy or ally.
Signature Perks
Gizmo has 3 signature perks. The first one is Rythm's Gonna Getcha. When you place the maximum amount of music on an opponent, instead of silencing them, they will start to dance, unable to perform any action for a short time. However, to cause this, you need to hit an enemy with 12 notes instead of 8.
The second signature perk is called Power Cuddle. When Gizmo is holding onto an ally, his attacks recharge much faster.
The third signature perk is Bounce, Bounce, Boom!. Thanks to it, you can detonate your popcorn and car by performing a special down attack in the air. Upon landing and hitting the previously mentioned objects, they will explode, dealing a lot of damage.
If you're going to play Gizmo in 1v1 mode, all the options will be very good except for Power Cuddle. Without an ally, you will not benefit from this perk. However, in 2v2 mode, it is the best option to support your team.
Power Cuddle build
In this build, you will focus on supporting your ally by jumping onto their shoulders:
- Back to Back - a defensive perk, thanks to which your team receives 6% reduced damage while near an ally. If they choose it as well, the bonus will increase to 12%. As Gizmo can literally climb onto a champion in your party, this buff will be active most of the time.
- Make It Rain, Dog! - an offensive perk, which increases your team's projectile speed by 20%. If the ally also chooses this, the bonus will increase to 25%. Gizmo has many ranged attacks, so it will be a good complement to the build.
- That's That's Flammable, Doc! - an offensive bonus that allows your team to set fire to the enemy with a basic attack for 1 second, within 3 seconds after knocking back an enemy with a projectile. If an ally stacks this perk with you, the effect lasts for 2 seconds.
Bounce, Bounce, Boom! build
In this build, you will focus on damage dealt with projectiles, car and popcorn explosions:
- Deadshot - an offensive bonus that will increase your team's projectile damage by 5%, and if your ally chooses it, the bonus will be 10%.
- That's That's Flammable, Doc! - an offensive bonus that allows your team to set fire to the enemy with a basic attack for 1 second, within 3 seconds after knocking back an enemy with a projectile. If an ally stacks this perk with you, the effect lasts for 2 seconds.
- Triple Jump - a utility perk. After hitting an enemy while airborne, you'll get the third jump. If stacked with an ally, the third jump is available always.
How to win as a Gizmo?
You should stick your ally from the very beginning. This way, you will be close to them, strengthening the ally, while you will receive less damage than if you were away from them. You can use a special neutral attack to direct notes to an ally.
When an ally is buffed and excess notes are in the air, target the enemy with a normal neutral attack. You will then fire a missile from your bow and the melodies will fly with the arrow.
If the enemy specializes in ranged combat, protect the ally with a special down attack. You then pull out an umbrella that protects both yourself and your ally from enemy projectiles.
Create popcorn with a normal up attack - it will launch your opponents into the air. Shoot at popcorn with a bow to create a powerful explosion that deals a lot of damage. On the other hand, the attached notes will fly in the direction you were aiming at.
If you want to significantly shorten the distance to enemies, use your car, which you will create thanks to a special side attack. Everything that stands in your way will be pushed back. You can also dodge while in the vehicle to jump out of it. This keeps the vehicle moving for a short time. With the special up attack, you will jump behind the wheel - provided you were not far from the car. After a short while, the car will explode, so attack your opponent as quickly as possible.
When you are outside the arena and have problems returning to it, use the umbrella by pressing the special side attack. Thanks to this, you will descend much slower. However, watch out for your opponents, as your moves are slow and predictable.
