Where to find Laxasia The Complete?
During your further exploration of Arche Abbey in Chapter XI, you'll encounter a Stargazer called Arche Abbey Prayer Room. The battle against Laxasia starts right after going through the door near this Stargazer. The fight will take place on the Ascension Bridge.
How to fight in Phase 1 with Laxasia The Complete?
This battle is divided into 2 phases. This means you'll have to defeat Laxasia two times during a single battle. In Phase 1, the boss surprises with his durability, has a lot of dangerous and fast moves in his repertoire, and sometimes also uses Electric Shock which complicates the fight further.
Additionally, her back is protected by a large shield. Attacks that land on the shield will be blocked and deal meagre damage. The good news is that after a few of these attacks, the shield may break. Nevertheless, with the start of Phase 2, the shield will appear again.
When it comes to equipment, we recommend choosing a weapon that reduces damage received when blocking by at least 50 points (more the merrier). During this fight, relying on blocking is key. The higher the damage reduction ratio during block, the less health you will lose while blocking boss attacks. Moreover, we recommend equipping Perfection Grindstone and making use of it in Phase 2.
An interesting tip is that in Phase 1, you don't even have to attack the enemy to win and continue to Phase 2. If you perfect block her sword attacks enough times, the weapon will break, and a cut-scene initiating Phase 2 will play out. However, this is not an easy feat, we recommend focusing on a standard win.
As the battle begins, Laxasia The Complete will start either with a charge or a leap. In case of the charge, simply dodge to a side when she is close, and return with your own attacks.
As for the leap, it will be a vertical attack with the sword. With this attack, take notice of the opponent's legs. When the first one touches the ground, perform a block. Additionally, watch out for Electric Shock that will come up from the tip of her weapon.
If the leap ends with an impact, and the sword is electrified, expect that there will be a wide lightning attack fired after the boss strikes the ground. You can block it or dodge forward.
The boss can also perform a backstep and after a short moment, quickly lunge at you while performing a sword thrust. This attack can be repeated up to three times. Each time you must dodge to a side once her blade is close to you. If the sword attack lands, a grab animation will play, during which you'll take damage and receive Electric Shock status.
One of Laxasia's more terrifying attacks is a 13-hit combination with the sword. You can expect this attack once Laxasia The Complete bends slightly and holds her sword with both hands. Once you become familiar with the attack animations, the combination is a perfect opportunity for a perfect block and inducing Groggy status on the opponent.
- After blocking the first stirke, wait a second, then press block three-times in quick succession.
- After the four initial attacks, Laxasia will back down for a moment. When the next swing ensues, press the block button as fast as possible, as she will launch as many as 6 strikes in fast succession.
- The final phase of the combination is 3 attacks that are slightly slower than the previous ones, but each is performed in the same tempo. Block these swings and only then return with your own attacks.
The boss also has a fury attack. After a few very slow swings, the fourth strike will cause Laxasia to glow red. When this happens, we recommend escaping or attempting a perfect block.
When you manage to fill the Groggy bar in full and have a strong attack at the ready, don't get close to her, but keep your distance. The marker that symbolizes the fatal attack appears only once Laxasia finishes her sword combination. After the attack is completed, attack her with a strong attack, and only then use the Fatal Attack.
How to fight in phase 2 against Laxasia The Complete?
After defeating Laxasia for the first time, a cut-scene will play in which Laxasia starts to remove her armor. She will now have less health, which means your attacks will deal more damage and charge the Groggy bar faster, however, the boss will be faster and more aggressive. Moreover, her attacks will apply Electric Shock much more often.
During this phase, you need to be patient and attack only when you're sure that Laxasia has ended her attack. Otherwise, you will be countered. Her attacks are not as predictable as in phase 1, so we recommend standard blocks instead of attempting to score a perfect block. Only attack that is easy to block are lightning bolts that are fired from ground or air.
Phase 2 always begins with Laxasia being airborne. When that happens, use Perfection Grindstone. With the use of the grindstone, all 6 lightning bolts coming from her will be deflected, as well as her attack where she lands perfectly where Pinocchio is. Each reflected projectile means additional damage dealt to the boss. After successful blocking, return with your attacks, either strong, charged or Fable Art.
If her weapon is electrified and she raises it in the air, she will perform a strong attack, moving behind your back. This one of the few moments where after blocking the attack, you can attack her in response.
It may happen that your attack will be so strong that it will stagger Laxasia The Complete. When that happens, quickly run away, as she will perform a spinning kick in a moment. After that attack, she will be susceptible to your attacks for a while. Use this opportunity to your advantage.
Sometimes, Laxasia jumps high in the air and then throws a lightning bolt at you. When you see an incoming projectile, perform a perfect block to reflect it, get to the boss quickly, and attack.
The boss has so many possible combinations of attacks so we recommend maintaining a standard guard. Trying to block these attacks perfectly is difficult, and you are only risking receiving serious damage. Attack when the boss stays idle for a moment. "Staying idle" happens most often after charged attacks of the boss, where Laxasia uses lightning to reach an area fast.
When her Groggy status bar appears and you perform a strong charged attack, instead of going all in, defend from her attacks. The first two attacks are sword swings - block them as always. You will regain lost health later. The third attack involves an area of effect electrical shock. When you see it, quickly run away. When the lightning dissapears, quickly approach the opponent, attack and finish with Fatal Attack.
