Where to find Simon Manus, Arm of God?
Simon Manus, The Arm of God is encountered in Chapter XI, not far from the Stargazer called Arche Abbey Cradle of the Gods. Go up the stairs to reach the arena.
How to fight Simon Manus, Arm of God?
The boss uses his weapon and his hands to attack. His strikes have an extended range, albeit are very slow. This makes his attacks easy to block, more so that the animations are very easy to read.
Despite this, his Fury attacks and the second phase, where he changes into a different opponent,, provide only a small block window. For the preparation phase, we recommend equipping a weapon that reduces damage received when blocking. Additionally, consider equipping a weapon with Fable Art which allows reflecting enemy attacks. Although his offensive moves are performed slowly, if he manages to land one, you'll lose a lof of health.
The boss most of the time attempts to close the distance by moving towards you, and then dragging his weapon on the ground two times. You can block these attacks, but they will push you back. When this attack happens, you can make a forward dodge in the right moment, and then attack the boss once. After a moment, a second swing will ensue.
From time to time, the boss can lunge very fast, land on you and attack with the fury attack. Avoiding this attack is pointless, as following the boss's size, it will land anyway. If you cannot time the landing, use the Fable Art of your weapon.
Simon Manus often raises his weapon up and then shoves it into the ground. This is often followed by another attack, which after a moment casts a blue fire on the ground. Do not, under any circumstances, get caught by it, as you'll receive a lot of damage in a short period of time.
A good tactic would be to approach him from a side or back as the boss doesn't know how to respond to such attacks. Nevertheless, when approached from a side, he may jump backwards. If you are at the edge of the arena, it is a perfect opportunity to hit him a few times, as he won't be able to escape from you.
This rarely happens, but once in a while Simon Manus may go berserk and slash everything in front of him relentlessly. This is a long combination of blows during which boss covers a lot of area in front of him. We recommend getting at a distance from him then and attacking only when he ends the combination.
Phase one of the Simon Manus, Awakened God battle - how to fight?
In this phase you should rely on defense. The Awakened God will attack very often, not giving you time to respond with attacks of your own. Before starting the battle, repair your weapon using a Grinder, as during this battle it will dull often. If you're not sure that you'll manage to perfect block Manus's attack, use standard blocks.
Boss starts the battle in a few possible ways. One of them is hitting the ground with his hand. After that, every few seconds blue flames will upper underneath your feet. Do a dodge quickly when that happens, as the window of opportunity is very short, and the flames deal a lot of damage. The flames will appear three times. During this time, focus on avoiding Manus rather than try to attack.
The second option involves creating a portal in the sky from which yellow projectiles appear. They do not deal much damage when struck, but apply Disruption on Pinocchio. If the bar is at full capacity, you die immediately, regardless of how many health points you have left. The projectiles are easy to avoid - simply run to the sides.
Simon Manus can also raise his hand and hit the hero with it, only to do the same action again. During the second blow, a shockwave will be created that flies towards you very fast. You can either block it or avoid it completely. If you fail to respond in time, you'll be launched into the air and receive damage.
Also watch out for projectiles he fires, as each applies Disruption when struck. If you have no way of avoiding them, perform a perfect block.
Phase two of the Simon Manus, Awakened God battle - how to fight?
When boss's health falls down to 60%, he will wave his hand and stand idle. After a moment, he lifts the weapon, which will start to glow. Then, in this area, a large-sized hand will fall down from the air. When it touches the ground, it will cause a huge energy explosion. To avoid this attack and not receive damage, you must quickly run to the other end of the arena.
Aside from that move, he shouldn't surprise you with anything. Many attack sequences from the first phase will reappear. You have to be patient with your attacks and attack with one stronger attack when you see him stop with his own for a moment.
