A Place to Call Home
This page of the Kingdom Come guide contains a walkhrough for A Place to Call Home - the second major quest from From the Ashes DLC. The goal of this quest is to start rebuilding Pribyslavitz. You need to reach a certain number of citizens and develop Pribyslavitz so it can start making profit.
Return to Pribyslawitz
This quest starts automatically after completing Lost in the Woods - after you meet with the Bailiff in Rattay and read the notice in the town's center that invites the refugees to live in Pribyslavitz. Go back to that place. After reaching Pribyslavitz the game will play a short cut-scene depicting the preparations for building new constructions in the village.
Meet with Marius again. He informs you about the requirements that will make the village function again (check Reconstruction of Pribyslavitz chapter to learn the most important information). Of course, Marius won't work for free. He wants you to pay him - this amount is even higher than what Divish has told you. You can agree or use Persuasion (try to have at least 12 points in that skill) to offer him a lower bonus or "base" salary (this variant allows you to save the most). The lowest possible salary of Marius is 55 gold pieces (for a day of work).
Church
There are three entries on the Marius' list:
The reconstruction of the Church
It's the most important task on the list. It is also a very expensive and time-consuming task. There are two main projects connected with the reconstruction of the church, which you can find in the register (a book on a rack next to Marius).
- The Project of church repairs. This is an expansive and time consuming goal. These repairs are related to two main entries in the register (the book next to Marius). Church Basic Repairs are the first step that will allow you to rebuild the church. First, you need to build Woodcutters' Camp (for 2500 gold), cause it requires a lot of wood. After that you have to spend 11,000 gold on the basic repairs.
- The Project of Church is the second and final step in rebuilding this construction. The base price for this project is 17,000 gold. It also requires stone (one of the resources) - build Trader's house and have constant stone supplies (after completing Supplies side quest). That is not all because you also need to finance two church upgrades - altar (4,000 gold) and frescoes (3,000 gold).
In total, you have to spend 35,000 gold pieces (11,000+17,000+4,000+3,000) on both church reconstruction projects. This amount does not take into account the need of building other important constructions and gathering building materials. What is more, the church generates only additional costs for the village. Both projects should be among the last to be funded.
Have enough income.
To complete this goal your village must generate the income of 1,200 gold. You can do that by placing new buildings and upgrading already existing ones (those buildings that offer various services, e.g. By that we mean the following construction projects:
- Forge;
- Bakery or Butcher's (you can build only one of these);
- Stables or Guardhouse (you can build only one of these);
- Tavern.
Some of these buildings can also be improved to provide even higher revenues. You can easily exceed the income of 2000 gold pieces per day, which means you can significantly "break" the requirement of 1200 gold.
Providing homes for villagers.
There must be 40 people living in Pribyslawitz. You don't have to take much interest in this activity. Simply expand your village by investing in more projects. In addition to the generated income/costs, the project descriptions in the register also contain information on how many new residents may appear in the village. For example, by building a Tavern you can gain as many as 15 inhabitants.
After construction of most of the projects, Pribyslawitz should eventually accommodate about 60 people. You can also optionally bring specialists to the village, such as blacksmith or a butcher. They can be found in other locations in the game world.
Return to Sir Divish
After you have completed all three tasks (church, income, residents), you can return to Talmberg and report back to Sir Divish. The main character will travel with him to Pribyslawitz to boast of the progress made in rebuilding the village. This way you will finish the quest, but you can still expand the village and take the gold it generates from governor's chest every day.
