Activating the quest

This quest is added to the journal after you speak with Ravan in Meridian. The man informs you that his precious sword was stolen. Your task is to find the thief.

Track the thief

First, speak with merchant's butler. You can meet him on the street. The conversation with him won't tell you much so your next step should be highlighting the window, presented on the picture, by using Focus. By doing this, you get the thief's track. Follow it.

The track leads to one of the stands. Speak with Keadi and learn where the thief went when he came here. Follow the quest marker to continue the quest.

In the end, you get to the point where the track ends. Speak with the woman from the picture. If you can't find her, use Focus. She is the only person that the device will highlight. It turns out that, indeed, the thief went this path but Rokasha claims that he didn't have the sword.

Go back to Keadi and ask her a few additional questions. You learn that the woman had her part in theft. She ensures you about her intentions and asks Aloy to go to the mill where she can learn why stealing the sword was important. Go to the place pointed by the marker to continue the quest.

Free the thief

When you get there, speak with Kindiv. During the conversation you learn about the motives for the theft. The man asks you to find one of his associates. He promises that if you find him, he will return the sword to its owner.

The next part of the quest leads to Branded Shore. You should start the investigation there. Near the campfire there are scraps of cloth. When you examine them you can use Focus to show the tracks of the lost man.

By following them you get to Carja camp. If you want to learn something more about the lost man you have to get rid of all enemies. The task is not easy but if you can manage to stay undetected then you have good chances in succeeding. After dealing with the guards near the front gate you must go further into the fort.

There, you learn that the lost is now in bandits' hands. Your task is to defeat them. Use Focus to learn the locations of your enemies and try to eliminate them quietly. They are not very perceptive or intelligent so you can even attack them from behind. A good thing to do, if you want to get rid of a bigger group, is to use slingshot with shock bombs. For a short time, the enemies are vulnerable to critical strikes so use this to your advantage and eliminate them when they are defenseless.

Before you free Nasam you should check out the chests with supplies that are placed near where the man is kept. Free him to continue the quest. After that, you must follow Nasam to the roof. From there you must use a rope to get to the bottom of the mountain on which the fort stands.

Finishing the quest

When you are there, speak with Nasam. The next part of the quest is to go back to the merchant that gave you the quest. After the conversation the quest is finished.
