The most important information regarding Horizon Zero Dawn's DLC trophies
- DLC trophies are separate from those needed for the Platinum trophy. All achievements involving DLC expansions are completely optional, and you don't have to get them even if you're looking to score the Platinum trophy.
- The game has three sets of DLC trophies - New Game+, The Frozen Wilds - Quests, and The Frozen Wilds - Feats. In all, we are looking at 23 trophies.
- New Game+ trophies are available to all players (they don't require The Frozen Wilds DLC), but they involve further playthroughs, so base game trophies will, for now, be more important.
- The Frozen Wilds Quests and Feats trophies require a DLC expansion of the same name. If you have Game of the Year Edition (standard PC version), this add-on will be present instantly. However, if you have a normal edition of the game, The Frozen Wilds have to be bought and installed in order for you to be able to experience the DLC content.
- The Frozen Wilds content should be experienced only after spending some hours in the base game. Thanks to this, Aloy will be stronger and able to handle new dangers.
- The Frozen Wilds trophies can be unlocked at any difficulty level. You can play on lower difficulty levels, same as in the case of the main campaign.
New Game+ Completed
DLC: New Game+
Description: Finished "New Game+" on any difficulty level
Type: Bronze
Hints: We recommend choosing the highest difficulty level for this playthrough so you are able to get both trophies of this type during a single run of the DLC expansion.
The game allows you to begin a New Game+ right after completing the main story, but don't rush with restarting the campaign. Instead, try to get as many things as possible that can be taken to a NG+ playthrough:
- Reach 50 experience level
- Get the best weapons, outfits, and upgrades
- Gather as many coins, materials, ammunition, and potions as possible.
If you're lacking trophies involving secrets, trials, or gathering machine knowledge, get them while still in the first playthrough. The said elements will get reset with the beginning of a New Game+ run, and as a result, you would need to e.g. gather all collectibles again.
Ultra Hard Completed
DLC: New Game+
Description: Finished"New Game+"on Ultra Hard.
Type: Silver
Hints: This is definitely the most difficult Horizon Zero Dawn trophy. Completing the game on the new Ultra Hard difficulty level is a lot of hassle, even if you've learned all main mechanics of the gameplay and brought many stuff from the first playthrough to the New Game+ mode. Here are some tips how to handle the game on Ultra Hard:
- Ignore all optional content and combat. If you've reached 50 experience level during the first playthrough, you won't advance further (provided you haven't installed The Frozen Wilds DLC, which increases the limit to 60). You should also bring the best weapons and outfits to NG+ mode. On Ultra Hard, every confrontation is very demanding. If possible, focus on the main story and in case of unexpected battle with machines or living opponents, run away. This way, you'll save time and more importantly, resources.
- Aloy can die very fast when staying on an open area. If you have to do battle, use covers. Nevertheless, watch out for Stalkers, who can attack more often than during the first playthrough.
- Rely on bows and various types of arrows. Ranged combat is a recommended approach. On Very Hard, melee battles are very risky - they are a last resort.
- Equip Shield-Weaver Outfit (available from a side quest called The Ancient Armory - can be brought to NG+). This is probably the best outfit, very useful during mandatory encounters. Sneaking is made more difficult with the increased difficulty level, and you can say for sure that Aloy will be detected very fast.

DLC: The Frozen Wilds - Quests
Description: Met Ikrie again at the Snowchants Hunting Ground and took first place in her challenge.
Type: Bronze
Hints: This trophy is connected to Ikrie's Challenge side quest, which becomes available once you complete The Survivor side quest.
You need to meet Ikrie in Snowchants Hunting Ground. The challenge connected to this trophy involves defeating groups of machines while having limited ammo. Fortunately, Ikrie helps with completing the challenge, and you can change the difficulty level to an easier one. In case of failure, you can freely repeat the challenge.
