Horizon Zero Dawn: Cauldron ZETA guide Horizon Zero Dawn Guide, walkthrough

Last update: 06 August 2020

This chapter is a complete guide for the quest connected with Cauldron ZETA. Here you can find tips that will help you to finish this quest in the most beneficial way.

Beginning the quest

This quest is added to your journal after you get closer to the Cauldron. There are a few Watchers before the entrance. You can fight them but it is not required to enter the Cauldron. It turns out that the main entrance is blocked and to get inside you must climb the rock nearby and find the entrance there.

Get to the Core

Unlike other Cauldrons, here, you don't have to solve any puzzles and defeat minor enemies to get to the Core chamber. In Cauldron ZETA you only go straight and collect the healing herbs if you have enough space in your inventory. Shortly after that you must jump down and go to the Core Chamber.

Before you fight with Thunderjaw you should eliminate two Watchers that guard the force field - Horizon Zero Dawn: Cauldron ZETA guide - Cauldrons - Horizon Zero Dawn Guide, Walkthrough

Before you fight with Thunderjaw you should eliminate two Watchers that guard the force field.

Defeat the boss and override the Core

The tips for fighting Thunderjaw can be found in the dedicated chapter of this guide (FAQ section). You should remember that the automatic save point is done before you enter the Cauldron which means that if you fail, you start outside of the Cauldron. On the one hand the process of climbing and avoiding the Watchers can be tedious but, on the other hand, you can level up or gain more experience and face the machine once again.

If you manage to defeat it then you must override the Core and leave the Cauldron. Thanks to that you can override the biggest machines - Thunderjaw, Rockbreaker and Stormbird.
