On this page of our Hades guide you'll learn how to get rid of poison once the protagonist contracts this status effect. We'll explain when can you be poisoned, how to avoid poisoning and what to do to cure Zagreus of poison.
Getting infected, reducing the risk of poisoning
The main character can only be poisoned in the Temple of Styx, the final realm of the game. Zagreus can be poisoned in two different ways:
1) Interacting with green fumes or puddles - puddles of poison usually appear due to the presence of Giant Vermin in the chambers. Try to stay away from green-colored threats - either constantly or until they disappear. This can be problematic in small chambers without much space to maneuver in. Use dashes to reposition yourself, focus on Casts and ranged combat if you have the means to do so.
Giant Vermin should be killed as soon as possible. Eliminate them to reduce their numbers and prevent them from covering the entire room in poison.
2) Getting shot with a poisoned dart by a cultist - Cultists are one of the more common enemies in the Temple of Styx. Dash often to prevent the cultists from going on an offensive and prioritise killing them, so you can safely eliminate the other enemies once they're gone. If you're using the Shield of Chaos you can use it to block the darts.
Curing poison - how?
You don't need to use any items from your inventory to cure the protagonist. The only means of curing yourself is reaching a healing pool - each chamber in the Temple always contains at least one of them. When poisoned, cure yourself as soon as possible - ignoring poison can result in a very significant health loss.
It's worth noting that the pools refill during combat, so you can use them more than once if you need to. Of course, while on your way to the pool, watch out not to get hit by other enemies or by nearby traps.
