On this page of the Hades guide you will find learn how to get to the hidden Chaos realm. You will learn the requirements for getting to Chaos, the course of the meetings with Chaos and how to complete the challenges and obtain gifts concerning Chaos.
What is Chaos?
Chaos is the name of one of the secret locations of Hades and the mysterious figure that inhabits it. If you want to get there, you need to fulfil the requirements described in the next section. Reaching Chaos is completely optional, but thanks to reaching this location, you will have the opportunity to join challenges, which, if completed successfully, can guarantee valuable stat bonuses for the main character.
Getting to Chaos and the travel price
Secret passages to Chaos do not appear from the very beginning of the game. You have to die at least 6 times to get the chance of finding them, but remember that it's completely random by default. It means that there's no guarantee that you will come across such a passage in a given attempt.
Look for black holes in the ground, so-called Chaos Gates that allow you to get to Chaos. By default, this operation is associated with sacrificing about 20-25 points of Health and as a result, you need to think about the profitability of this operation. If you have a short health bar or you are seriously weakened, then after returning to one of the main realms, you'll be weakened and it will be much easier to kill you.
In the next stage of the campaign, you can find Nectar and bring it to Chaos. As a reward for delivering nectar to this NPC, you will unlock Cosmic Egg keepsake. One of its features is to eliminate the need to sacrifice part of the health bar, but remember that this gift must be set as active.
Note that Ixion Light items can be found in shops and Wells of Charon. The purchase of such an item guarantees that Chaos Gate will appear in the next location possible (it involves mainly common chambers with enemies). You can take advantage of this purchase if you absolutely want to visit the secret land in a given attempt.
Challenges Of Chaos
Each visit to Chaos allows you to have a new conversation with this character, but what's even more important is the opportunity to join the Chaos challenges. Each time, the game displays 3 gifts and each of them is associated with two important factors:
1) restriction or obstacle, which remains for a certain number of fights. The selected challenge can, for example, result in loss of energy points due to the use of casts, temporarily shorten the health bar, weaken your resistance to traps, reduce the movement speed or cause each defeated enemy to drop a bomb. All this makes the playthrough and survival a little bit or much more difficult.
2) reward for surviving the required number of fights. If you don't die and complete the required number of fights, the gift of Chaos will turn into a good reward. This can be, for example, a permanent lengthening of the health bar, a significant increase of selected attacks strength, finding a higher-quality loot or increasing the maximum supply of Bloodstones.
You should always try to choose challenges with the best rewards and the least onerous obstacles. You will be able to obtain good stat bonuses and, at the same time, reduce the risk of dying as a result of too many obstacles stemming from the active Chaos gift. On our part, we recommend avoiding challenges that slow you down and take away your health points for standard attacks. These obstacles can make it very difficult to defeat enemies and avoid their attacks.
