Total War: Rome II lets players become leaders of the nations of antiquity from the Roman Empire period and struggle for dominance over new territories. Like the past Total War games (e.g. Total War: Shogun 2 and Empire: Total War) gameplay combines turn-based and real-time activities. Your task is to manage you provinces and command armies. The game’s highlight are the spectacular battles of armies fielding thousands of units. The developers of Total War: Rome II carefully kept to historical truth when it comes to battle formations, weaponry, and tactics. High-quality graphics was achieved thanks to a modified version of the Warscape Engine.

A dynamic TPP action game developed by Crytek. Its story is present mainly in the form of flashbacks and takes us to ancient Rome, right before its fall. The main hero – centurion Marius Titus – wants to take revenge on barbarians who murdered his family. Ryse: Son of Rome has been developed with Kinect in mind from the very start, allowing players to perform various combinations of attacks through body movement. There is also option of giving out simple voice commands to our soldier. The game stands out with high-quality visuals powered by the fourth generation of CryEngine.

The third installment in the acclaimed Total War strategy game series developed by Creative Assembly. This time, the player is taken to the period during which the Roman Empire is in its prime. The player participates in historical events, such as the Spartacus slave uprising, the Punic Wars, or Julius Caesar's conquest of Gaul. The creators faithfully recreated such historical elements as different military units, machines and technologies the ancient nations depended on. As usual, the gameplay is divided into two phases. The player makes large-scope decisions in the turn-based mode featuring the world map - for example, concerning technological development, diplomacy, development of cities or army management. The battles, on the other hand, are played in real time and the player commands particular formations or individual units. Rome: Total War includes the features introduced by the previous installments, such as sieges of cities, reconnaissance or reserves. Apart from the single-player campaign, the game offers multiplayer for up to 8 competitors.

An economic strategy developed by the independent team at DolphinBarn studio. The players' task is to manage a gladiator school during the golden age of Roman Empire. They buy new warriors, prepare their training, and provide them with proper equipment (weapons, armor) to finally put them on the arena. Fighters can use various fighting styles, so it is possible to create specialized gladiators. Finding the balance between expenses and earnings is the key to success, and taking advantage of a political situation and sympathy of influential people helps as well. Domina offers various types of battles – some based on fair duels, others made to hinder our warriors as much as possible. All of this is presented with pixel-art visuals, complemented by a fitting soundtrack.

The first of the planned expansion packs for a strategy game developed by Creative Assembly. The expansion is set in the years 58-51 BC and focuses on the titular figure's fight against Gallic tribes. Shortening the time period encompassed by the game resulted in a change to the turn system - instead of 12 months, one turn lasts here 2 weeks. Consequently, seasonal division returns, randomly affecting the course of the playthrough. The new campaign is complemented by new factions added, including the Nervii, the Arverni and the Suebi; also, previously unavailable units were added. Apart from that, the mechanics behind the in-game challenges were altered, a new historical battle was added and a greater emphasis was placed on figures such as Julius Caesar or Marcus Antonius.
