Domina for PC is an economy strategy that puts us in charge of ludus – a gladiator school that operates in the golden age of Roman Empire. It is the work of a Canadian team from DolphinBarn studio.
Game mechanics
Gameplay of Domina focuses on buying gladiators, preparing their training program and finally pit them against other fighters in battles on arena. The game offers many type of weapons, armors, and fighting styles, thanks to which we can create highly specialized warriors, although nothing stops us from having more balanced characters.
As a proper economy game, everything is based on money. We must balance between income and expenses, with some occasion to earn big money fast, but involving a great risk.
PC’s version of Domina offers many different arenas and scenarios. Some of them are fair battles, while others were designed to make the lives of contestants as difficult as possible.
Politics play great role in the game, with Rome being filled with influential people, whose sympathy is absolutely crucial if we won’t to survive in business. Those connections earn us access to better prizes and new opportunities to earn money, as well as save us from putting our gladiators to fight impossible to win battles.
Technical aspects
Domina uses good-looking pixel-art style that is accompanied by catchy soundtrack composed by Nic “bignic” Gorissen.
