Praetorians: HD Remaster

Praetorians: HD Remaster is a remastered version of a 2003 RTS. The game was developed by Torus Gamesm in cooperation with the creators of the original, Pyro Studios.

Plot

Preateorians: HD Remaster takes us back to the Roman Empire, and dares us to become the emperor. There are three nations in the game, the first of which are of course the disciplined Romans who use impressive war machines and sophisticated combat formations on the battlefield. The second are the Gauls, or fearless warriors with high mobility. The last place on the list is occupied by Egyptians with a great deal of scientific and technical knowledge, able to sacrifice everything in the name of their Pharaoh.

Mechanics

In Praetorians: HD Remaster, the action is shown from bird's eye view. What lies at the heart of the game, warfare, is made difficult by the fact that we have a limited number of units on more than twenty missions, and the ability to recruit new ones is determined by the natural growth and the number of glory points we have at our disposal at any given time.

This forces us to skillfully manage our military resources and develop appropriate tactics taking into account the topography of the terrain (for example, archery is most effective when the archers are on the hill), individual skills of our subordinates or finally the opportunities offered by various formations. It should be remembered that individual units are effective in battles against specific enemy forces. It is worth noting that apart from the aforementioned archers, the battlefields feature, among others, pikemen, the eponymous praetorians and various war machines like rams or catapults.

Technical aspects

While working on Praetorians: HD Remaster, the devs improved the graphics and adapted it to high resolutions. In addition, the user interface and controls have been improved.
