A game belonging to the popular tower defense genre. It's theme, however, is rather unusual, for the players' task is to protect their household against the attacking hordes of zombies. The game was developed by PopCap Games - a company popular for successful arcade-logic games, such as Peggle Deluxe or Bejeweled. In Plants vs Zombies, the levels are made of paths along which the zombies are coming. The player's task is to secure each of those paths. Interestingly, the player's fortification comprises of various plants and flowers growing outside of their house. Each kind of plant has a unique ability. These include things like production the in-game currency, attacking, slowing down the enemies, or exploding in front of them. Zombies are equally diversified - there are many types of attackers, differing in appearance, equipment, and armor. All the subtleties of gameplay are gradually revealed and explained to the players. The game stands out with its atmosphere of comedy, deprived of serious undertones and tension. This was achieved mainly by colorful visuals and a cheerful soundtrack.

An independent sandbox strategy game with both RPG and tower defense elements, inspired by such productions as Terraria, Dwarf Fortress, and the iconic Dungeon Keeper. Craft the World has been developed by Dekovir Entertainment. In the game, the players get to control a group of Dwarves tasked with erecting and defending a stronghold. In order to do this, they have to look for resources, construct diverse buildings, and (when necessary) fight enemy factions. For their efforts, the players earn experience points, for which they can acquire new team members. The game takes place across randomly generated worlds, each one featuring different conditions. The Dwarves use a wide range of weapons and armors, which the players can create themselves using a relatively simple crafting system. The game delivers high resolution and 2D old-school visuals, somewhat resembling the aforementioned Terraria.

A tower defense game requiring the player to defend a position against attacking fantasy creatures. The game was created by Ironhide - an independent developer. Kingdom Rush is set in a classic fantasy world filled with magic, orcs, knights and giants. The player's goal is to prevent the enemies from reaching the other side of the map. The attackers come in waves and each one is more powerful than the previous. When planning further actions, the player has to build defensive structures on the path of the enemy, including towers for archers, artillery posts and barracks generating soldiers who fight the attackers directly. Elimination of enemies generates income, which can be spent on expanding the line of defense through the addition of new buildings or upgrade of the existing ones. When the situation gets worse, the player can also cast powerful offensive spells capable of stopping or even destroying entire groups of enemies. Completing a level earns the player golden stars, allowing them to upgrade their units or make spells more effective. Kingdom Rush stands out with its eye-pleasing, colorful and detailed visuals.

The game provides a continuation to one of the most popular mobile tower defense strategies, which was created by Ironhide. Kingdom Rush Frontiers is based on the gameplay formula of its predecessor. The player's task here is to defend the kingdom against various fantasy creatures. In order to do that, the player builds different defensive structures on their path, sends military units to fight them, but also uses many different spells. In the story campaign, the player has to make their way through treacherous deserts and forests in order to reach the mountains, where the final boss fight begins. The creators added an entire set of hero characters, improvements and units, such as assassins, templars, necromancers or machines capable of causing earthquakes. Each of the characters has their own unique abilities, which can be developed in different ways, thus various play-styles are applicable. Following the pattern of the original game, Kingdom Rush Frontiers offers cartoonish visuals. Additionally, the game is filled with light humor and references made to pop-culture.

The third installment in a series of popular tower defense games set in a fantasy world. Similar to the previous installments, the game was created by Ironhide. In terms of the plot, Kingdom Rush Origins is a prequel to the entire story presented in the series, set before the evil Vez'nan posed a threat to the country of the elves. The player's goal is to stop the evildoer by leading the armies through new locations: elven forests, magical kingdoms and ruins of an ancient metropolis. The game offers new kinds of towers and units, such as elven archers, mystical mages or stone druids. Also, new improvements, spells and abilities were added along with previously unavailable enemy types. The armies are led by nine legendary characters, and each has unique powers. What has remained unchanged here is the gameplay formula of the predecessors, as well as cartoonish visuals typical of the series.

A mobile "match-3" logic game enriched with strategy elements associated with the tower defense genre. Jake Sones, a former employee at Blizzard Entertainment, is the game's co-creator. The player's goal is to defend scientist against hordes of zombies. A path leads to each of the eggheads and several kinds of brains are distributed throughout it; these attract zombies that in turn, eat them. The player's task is to combine three identical brains into groups, which makes them disappear, and as a result, the same happens to zombies willing to eat them. Combining the brains together earns the player points that allow them to unleash different special powers, such as immobilizing the enemy for a specified period of time. The pace of gameplay in Zombie Match Defense is slow, however, for the zombies move only after the player does. On the other hand, the game is not easy and requires good planning. Zombie Match Defense offers hilarious visuals.

The gameplay comes down to securing subsequent patches of our lawn in a way that will prevent brain-eating monsters from reaching their target. The sequel offers even greater variety of fields and plants, not to mention black humor, typical feat of the series.

To succeed, you have to find a powerful sorceress, who is the only person possessing powers that can stop the forces of evil once and for all. In every level you have to survive the attacking waves of enemies, although unlike in other tower defense games, you don't use static towers but characters, over which you have absolute control. The enemies move in set patterns, which allows you to plan your strategy in advance. In addition, like in role-playing games, each available character has their own fighting style, equipment, and abilities, which can be developed as the game progresses.

A minimalist strategy game with tower defense elements by German studio KM-Games. The gameplay focuses on two battling dot armies. The battles take place on maps divided into five paths, and you task is to destroy your opponent's base. There are fifteen kinds of units, six of which you can use in battle. They have different abilities — some of them can attack, others can defend or fix the damage. You can also find various power-ups, which can turn the tide of battle. You can play Battledots on your own (the single player campaign consists of 100 missions), with another player on the same device, or in the online multiplayer mode, which can be accessed on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
