Star Wars: Galactic Defense

Star Wars: Galactic Defense, released on AND and iOS, is a tower defense strategy game set in the Star Wars universe. The title was prepared in cooperation with The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm Ltd. by the western branch of the Japanese corporation DeNa, which has been producing mobile games since 1999.

Mechanics

The action of Star Wars: Galactic Defense takes place in different periods and on different planets of the Star Wars universe, and players face the task of defending over a hundred characteristic locations, known from both the original trilogy and the prequels from 1999-2005. During the game, we can opt for the Light or Dark side of the Force and play two separate campaigns, in which we will take advantage of other types of defensive structures and possible improvements. We can simultaneously control three selected heroes with different powers and special abilities. Among them, we can find such iconic characters as Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Yoda, as well as a whole range of supporting characters.

The game is subject to the classic rules of the genre and boils down to defending the marked path against the approaching waves of enemies. This is facilitated by different types of turrets, differing in attack power and capabilities. The game also features hand-to-hand combat turrets, which deploy units attacking enemies in their vicinity. The heroes gifted with special abilities, whom we control in a way reminiscent of classic RTS games, play an important role. Throughout the game, both heroes and turrets gain experience that allows them to advance to higher levels and use various upgrades.

Technical aspects

The game uses a typical free-to-play model with microtransactions, thanks to which we can buy various bonuses and power-ups for real currency to make the game easier. By inviting friends to have fun together, we can exchange resources and take part in many online events, climbing to the tops of online rankings.
