Anomaly 2

Anomaly 2 is a strategy game that belongs to a subgenre referred to as inverted Tower Defense, which combines features of a dynamic action game and a classic RTS. Despite its title, the game is the third, after Anomaly: Warzone Earth and Anomaly: Korea, installment of Anomaly series that was originated in 2011. Like the two previous parts, the game was created by a Polish developer 11 bit studios.

The creators made sure that the single player campaign was a challenge even for the most experienced players. Its story takes up the threads started in Warzone Earth. Anomaly 2 is set in year 2034. Humanity is losing the war against alien invaders. Those who survived travel together in large convoys through the frosty wilderness, searching for supplies and food, while remaining in constant fear of an attack of enemy machines. They also try to get to an anomaly that generates tropical climate in the southern hemisphere, in order to finally eliminate the extraterrestrial threat. It is noteworthy that depending on the decision taken in the last mission, you will see one of the two different endings of the story.

Gameplay model in Anomaly 2 was not affected by any drastic changes, therefore, you again command your own squad, trying to get across a designated area in one piece and perform certain objectives. However, the developers have introduced a number of improvements that create new tactical possibilities. The most important of these is an option to transform any combat unit into its alternative form, characterized by different properties. This way the number of the vehicles available got doubled. Moreover, the gameplay is made more attractive by occasional scripts in the campaign, as well as improved visuals based on an engine created by 11 bit studios.

The new multiplayer mode allows players to take either side of the conflict, so you can command the forces of humans (as in the campaign) or their opponents, using the tactics known from traditional Tower Defense games (building turrets to protect a valuable generator).
