The latter focuses on unraveling twines with hooks at their ends. The presence of hooks forces the players to unravel the lines in the right order and to use various switches that change the situation on the map (they can either make the task easier or much more complicated).

Unlike in the original game, this time we play as Mario, and our job is to save princess Peach, who was kidnapped by the evil Bowser. Gameplay mixes elements from match-3 puzzles and RPGs. We will explore the game's world and fight with the encountered enemies.

There are many logic puzzles to complete — in every level, you have to arrange special blocks in a given order to form a certain configuration to progress. There are 17 levels and they vary in terms of challenges. Later levels feature such dangers as lasers or deadly spikes. The biggest challenge in Boxboy!
