Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink is the work of Artifex Mundi, a studio specializing in casual productions. The developers' ambition was to create an unconventional adventure game that would appeal to players of all ages.
Plot
The plot of the game takes us to a steampunk world, in which a series of powerful earthquakes are destroying one city after another. Dr. Ambrose Ink suspects that they are not a work of nature, and the trail leads him to the villages of Hochwald. There, the scientist is kidnapped by a giant robot constructed by the insidious Gerhard Barber. Luckily, he manages to ask for help from his stepchild - the intelligence agent Evangeline Glass, who is the only one who can discover the truth and prevent the outbreak of war.
Mechanics
Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink combines the features of a classic adventure game and HOPA (Hidden Objects Puzzle Adventure). As Evangeline Glass, the player explores locations, speaks to NPCs and solves puzzles. The latter include hidden object tasks, puzzles requiring manipulation of objects and elements of the environment, as well as uncomplicated mini-games.
The player can choose from three levels of difficulty, which translates into the complexity of the puzzles and available help. Intuitively simple control system combined with the classic point&click interface shouldn't cause problems even for less experienced adventurers.
Technical aspects
The advantages of Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink include high-quality visuals - the game runs on Spark Casual Engine. The professional soundtrack of the game, including English voice acting, also deserves attention.
