Buildings in Frostpunk | Basics Frostpunk Guide

The game allows you to construct various buildings. They are divided into categories which describe their purpose. Of course, not all buildings are available when you start the game. Some of them must be unlocked through research or by issuing certain laws.
Basic buildings:
People:
Tent | The basic house. Can hold up to 10 citizens. Isn't resistant to weather which is why you can build it only in a heat zone. |
Bunkhouse | A more advanced house. Can hold up to 10 citizens. Resistant to weather. You can build it outside of heat zone. |
Health:
Medical Post | A small infirmary. Provides care for five sickened. You can only build it in a heat zone. |
Food:
Cookhouse | Turns raw food into edible meals. You can build it only in a heat zone. |
Hunters' Hut | Allows you to get raw food by exploring the lands outside of the city. |
Resources:
Resource Depot | A warehouse that allows you to store one type of resources. |
Gathering Post | A warehouse that allows you to store all types of resources. |
Technology:
Workshop | Unlocks technology tree. Allows you to conduct researches. |

Child Shelter | Children can spend their time while their parents are at work. You can build it only in a heat zone. | Book of laws; law: "Child Shelter" |
Fighting Arena | Organizes fights. Stops dissatisfaction from going up. | Book of laws; law: "Fighting Arena" |
Public House | Provides citizens with entertainment. Stops dissatisfaction from going up. You can build it only in a heat zone. | Book of laws; law: "Public House" |
Cemetery | Allows you to bury the dead. | Book of laws; law: "Cemetery" |
Health:
Care House | Provides care for terminally ill by taking them from medical post. You can build it only in a heat zone. | Book of laws; law: "Care House" |
Resources:
Sawmill | Allows you to cut down frozen trees. | Workshop |
Technology:
Beacon | Allows you to create recon teams and unlocks expedition. | Workshop |
Steam Hub | Creates a heat zone around it. Increases coal usage. | Workshop |
