A New Hope Scenario Tips and Walkthrough
In this mission your goal is to face the biggest threat in the entire world of Frostpunk - the cold. This isn't an easy task because you will have to prepare your people for an incoming dangerous storm.
In the beginning of the scenario you have to focus on the regular basics of building a city. Invest in technology that allows you to excavate resources and in those that make food-related buildings more efficient. By doing that you create a constant income of resources which means that you won't have to wait for gathering enough of them. Thanks to this solution you will also be able to start making supplies for the incoming storm, especially coal and edible food.
You also have to invest in a Beacon and create a scouting team as fast as you can. The world map is full of various locations that may contain useful resources. You can speed up the process of discovering a map by purchasing technologies related to this process. During scouting you can also come across survivors who can arrive to your city. Accept everyone. They are an additional work force for your city. However, you must remember to provide shelter for them. This means that you will have to build more houses.
Start investing in the Generator updates after about 5 or 6 days. The temperature is slowly going down - don't expect it to get better. The first two technologies that you should invest in are called "Heaters" and "Steam Hub". Thanks to them you can keep a certain level of heat inside of the buildings that are far away from the city's center. Only then you can think about upgrading the Generator itself.
Keeping the hope bar at a certain level is also crucial. During the game you can experience a huge drop in hope level. This gives a birth to a new opposition group - the number of its members depends on the hope bar. The lower the bar, the more people will be against you. If you fail to overcome this situation, you will either have to force that group to be obedient or to let them leave the city.
At the end of the scenario you will face a huge storm. Remember that you won't be able to help everyone. During this storm the temperature can even reach -150°C. It doesn't matter how well-heated your city is, most of the buildings will stop functioning properly (people inside of them will die).
