Location Radar
Forever Skies offers a procedurally generated map, so resource locations aren't fixed and have to be found on your own. Location Radar is an item that will help you with this - it displays nearby locations and waypoints. Individual types of locations are marked on your map as follows:
- Radio Towers - red color,
- Wind Farms - blue color,
- Gardens - green color,
- Underdust - purple color.
The question mark icon on the Radar indicates the type of location that has not yet been discovered, and the exclamation mark icon is the objective of the current quest. The radar also shows mountains you can't fly over.
To unlock Location Radar, you need to first find and scan it - this is possible in the first Wind Farm you'll visit in the game. After scanning the device, you need to research it at a Research Station - only after this action is completed you can craft one.
General information about the locations
There are four types of locations in Forever Skies, which differ in e.g. resources or size.
- Radio Towers are marked with a single orange light.
- Wind Farms have towers with two blue lights. To reach them, you need at least one Turbine installed on the ship - one Turbine allows ascending up to an altitude of 250m.
- Gardens are marked with green light. To be able to land on them, you need to have at least two Turbines installed (maximum altitude of 270 meters).
- Underdust locations are the largest in size, and are marked with a purple light - in each of such locations, you'll find an elevator, tunnels, and a laboratory. If you want to access Underdust, you need to have a Airship with at least three Turbines installed.
Temporary Camp
Temporary Camp is one of the Radio Tower locations. The following resources can be found in this location:
