Forever Skies: First steps - how to start the game Forever Skies guide, tips
First Steps in Forever Skies is a guide page that describes the first steps and possible difficulties of getting into the ship and open-world gameplay options.
Last update: 21 November 2022
Here you will find a walkthrough for the first few minutes of Forever Skies. Thanks to it, you will learn how to complete the first stages of the game to reach the ship and make it operational.
- Opening the door
- Fabricator
- Making an extractor
- Obtaining the engine blueprint
- Leaving the ruins and first flight
Opening the door
Your first task after leaving the capsule is to start the computer and open the yellow door. On the desk you will find a Scanner that allows you to examine various things and learn interesting information about them (the data is saved in the database) and, possibly, learn new blueprints.
Go through the room behind which there are stairs to the upper floor - there, at the end, you will find a box with a fuse inside. Place it in the panel next to the laptop.
Important - scan the Solid State Battery, which you will place in the panel, to obtain its schematic - you will need it later.
Fabricator
When you go to the top floor, you will see your airship. With it, you will travel to similar locations. But first you have to build the engine and get fuel. Fabricator, a device for crafting items, is on the table behind the craft. Pick it up and place it inside your ship.
Making an extractor
Using the Fabricator, convert 10 scrap metal to crafting metal. From 10 units of scrap you will receive 20 units of Metal. Now go to the Tools tab to select the Extractor. This item is used to dismantle objects and elements of the world to obtain materials. You must place the device outside the ship, on its platform (black tiles around the ship). Place it in such a way so you can still see the area behind the ship.
Importantly, you can also collect metals and synthetics from the air: they float as dust clumps, and if they aren't too far away, you can pick them up with the extractor - this provides a constant and unlimited source of basic crafting materials. Each clump contains 5 units of metals or synthetics.
Obtaining the engine blueprint
Using the Extractor, destroy the containers blocking the passage to the side room behind the ship. There, on the table, you will find a memory card with data on making the engine and fuel.
Place the crafted engine anywhere behind the ship - but it's good to have it close to you in case you run out of fuel and need to refuel it mid-flight. Create fuel from synthetic materials and fill the engine with it.
Leaving the ruins and first flight
After refueling the engine, interact with the rudder and start flying. While in flight, after gaining speed, you can set the cruise control to maintain speed and do other things on the ship. Your target is any lights seen through the storm. You can explore each of the locations marked with those lights.
Removing the batteries from the mast console will cause the light to no longer appear in this location - use this to mark places you have visited.
