Ship capacity in Forever Skies
Airship capacity is a very important parameter in Forever Skies, as it determines how many items it can carry at once. Intense exploration will quickly overburden your ship as you craft new crates or devices. You'll have to upgrade it. There are two ways to increase the Airship's carrying capacity, those being:
- creating an additional balloon with the Airship building tool - you must place it above the ship. Each balloon increases carrying capacity by 500 units.
- expanding the balloon with the Airship building tool - point the device at an already existing balloon. Click on it to spend required resources and increase carrying capacity by 400 units. This will also elongate the balloon.
You start the game with a paltry capacity of 500. It's therefore worthwhile to upgrade it often.
How to create an Airship building tool?
The most important thing you need when increasing maximum carrying capacity is an Airship building tool. How to get one to increase your capacity?
- First, research the tool blueprint at the Research Station. You'll need electric elements and synthetic materials.
- Then, craft it in a Fabricator using a transformer, electric elements, a solid state battery and synthetic materials.
- If you've just started the game, you'll need to craft a single turbine first to reach the Wind Farm. Collecting your first helium cylinder unlocks two blueprints in the tool: "expand balloon" and "balloon".
- You can now increase the ship's carrying capacity.
The Airship crafting tool will run out of power after some time - its status is indicated by a yellow bar under its icon. You need a tool charger to recharge it.
