Moving around the pitch in FIFA 20 FIFA 20 guide, tips

Last update: 01 October 2019

The ability to move around the pitch is one of the basics of FIFA 20. With proper movement on the pitch, you can easily find good positions to shoot, but also stop the actions of the opposite team. Remember that playing offense or defense isn't just about spamming sprint button.

The ball is in constant motion

While playing the ball in FIFA 20 you cannot stop in one place and wait for further developments. The ball must be in constant motion, because moving with it dismantles the enemy's defense and forces him to approach with his players, opening new paths to the goal.

Cautious use of sprint

Excessive use of sprint in FIFA 20 affects the ball - when the player is too fast, the ball which he leads bounces too far away from him, allowing the enemy players to take it. Moreover, continuous sprinting negatively affects the efficiency and accuracy of passes and shots. During the game, try not to abuse the sprint button, but wait for the moment when you have enough space in front of the player - then you can accelerate.

Retaking the ball should be well planned

Constant pushing to retrieve the ball from the opponent's players leads to depleting the stamina of your players and creating many gaps in your defense. Remember that not every attack of the opponent turns into an action on your goal, so sometimes you should wait for the right moment to take control of the football. Moreover, after receiving the ball, you're sometimes forced to play backwards or to lateral sectors of the playing field to allow your players to take up a better position and begin an attack or a quick counter.
