If you've ever felt the desire for a relaxing game and did some research, surely one of the first results you saw in the search engine was the Damacy Reroll Katamari. This game very often appears in this category between the Sims and ten different variants of various farm simulations. It's a very interesting company for Katamari, which doesn't have much in common with simulation. In Katamari Damacy Reroll, we do not build, we do not simulate, there is also no room for development, and the only thing that awaits us is total destruction. Could there be anything more relaxing?
Each of the levels that we explore in the game is showing some extremely mundane places. We move around rooms, the whole house, streets or even the whole city and that's where we spread chaos. The manner of destruction is an extremely interesting mechanic, and the game owes its success to precisely that. The eponymous Katamari means a "ball" composed of all the objects we may encounter on our way. We roll this ball in front of us and absorb the objects we encounter into it, so that it constantly grows. The only catch is that we can only catch things, animals or even people, that are smaller than the ball – bigger ones, instead of enlarging it, inflict damage.
The game is accompanied by a disarmingly absurd, but unobtrusive storyline. The most important feature of this production, however, is the destruction of the world by the rolling ball. We have more relaxed levels, as well as some with a clock ticking in the corner of the screen to remind you of the time limit. Despite such limitation, usually from a few to several minutes, each stage can be overcome without much problem. And if – in the worst case – we have to repeat them, that still only means more rolling and more fun.
