We're headed towards the end of this year, which means many potential candidates for the title of the game of the year have already been released, and there's a good chance that the podium will stay pretty unchanged until December. Let's remember that the beginning of this year brought a significant number of big releases, with some of the smaller games surpassing our expectations. As every year, this text is periodically updated with new, noteworthy games. Here's a list of the best games of 2022 released so far.

UPDATE

In October 2022, we've added four new games.

Bayonetta 3

  1. Release date: October 28
  2. Genre: hack'and'slash TPP
  3. Developer: PlatinumGames
  4. Platform: Nintendo Switch
  5. Our rating: 8/10

Bayonetta used to be for everyone, but since the second installment of the series, it has become a Nintendo exclusive. And so did the latest, third part – this time on Switch. Fans of the black-haired witch had to wait a whole eight years to see this heroine in action again – but it was worth it! In part three, not only Bayonetta returns, but also the journalist Luka and friend Jeanne, and a new playable character is available – Viola – who is just starting to explore the the arcane of magic. The team uses their powers and abilities to save all of humanity from a deadly biological weapon this time.

Bayonetta 3 is a combination of all the advantages of the previous two parts, given in a well-known mix of sophistication and absurdity. Particular credit should be given to the developers for the dynamic combat, often compared to that of the Devil May Cry series, and for the variety of opponents and gameplay mechanics. The game surprises you with something almost to the very end, not letting you tear yourself away from the monitor. The exclusivity of this game is sad, because the not very powerful Switch suffers a little when too many things are happening on the screen. But apart from that, it's one of those titles that really makes having the Nintendo handheld worth it.

Bayonetta 3 is truly eye candy for your senses and is what all sequels should aspire to be. Fans are sure to eat it all up, and newcomers will be left hungry for the next one.
