Although the first part of A Plague Tale was mainly advertised with thousands of animated rats, we remembered it mainly due to the charmingly depicted bond between the two siblings, Amicia and Hugo, and the extremely convincingly created atmosphere of medieval France. In the sequel, all this returns with twice the force – rats and a deadly plague still wreak havoc in the country, and the sister must once again protect her brother while searching for a cure for his disease. Provence and the beautiful landscapes of southern France were chosen as the background for these events.

Little novelties in the gameplay completed this practically perfect continuation, again allowing you to experience extraordinary emotions and cheer on the heroes from beginning to end. The creators from Asobo studio showed that they are masters in telling captivating stories, creating memorable characters, designing atmospheric locations, adding beautiful graphics and captivating music. In A Plague Tale: Requiem there are no fillers, no grind, no boredom – it's a well-balanced, "epic" adventure, which it's impossible to break away from. It's a pity that such an intimate production did not stand a chance against Sony's blockbuster, even thou it wasn't necessarily better.

A Plague Tale deals with the subjects of lost people amid plague and war – subjects that have become part of our daily lives in recent years and months. It does this by placing the characters in a story told through the prism of fantasy, which allows it to avoid moralizing. Perhaps A Plague Tale is the most up-to-date and relevant critique on our reality in video games. And at the same time, the sequel – forgetting about the context – is just a great sequel and a really good game.
