Amicia and Hugo are not the only pair of heroes to return this year. Finally, we also saw the culmination of the adventures of Kratos and his son Atreus in another Nordic setting of God of War: Ragnarok. In the circumstances of the impending battle of gods with giants and the imminent end of the world, they come to visit nine different lands to play their part in the event. The mechanics of the game haven't changed too much and anyone who knows the previous part will immediately find themselves at home. The developers improved the variety of enemies, added a broader range of items and weapon upgrades, which, along with other small improvements, complete the picture of a better, more polished sequel.

Critics liked the game very much, which translated into an avalanche of high ratings and a number of nominations in various categories at The Game Awards ceremony. God of War: Ragnarok is simply a refined, beautiful and well-sounding production, which is largely due to the franchise itself and the studio behind it. The second part lacked freshness and surprise that the previous one had, presenting an older, more mature and calmer hero compared to that of the earlier installments of the series. The culmination of the whole story may also be a little disappointing, but it doesn't change the fact that you can spend many a fun hour with Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok is an example of when to not mess with perfection. It features powerful themes we can all somehow relate to and offers a rollercoaster of emotions that keeps you hooked until the end.
