Iron Danger. Games you have probably missed in 2020

Iron Danger

  1. Genre: tactical role-playing game
  2. Developer: Action Squad Studios
  3. Platforms: PC (console versions are also planned)

At first glance, Iron Danger looks like many other games, but up close you can see some distinctive elements in it. It is set in Finland – one where fantasy mixes with steampunk. It also mixes real-time combat with a turn-based system, thanks to the ingenious mechanics of manipulating time. This is the ability that the main character, Kipuna, possesses, and – as you might imagine – she must use it to save the world.

Time control is especially useful in combat. This allows you to better position your characters or avoid injury altogether by reversing to the right moment. The environment is incredibly interactive and allows you to use different elements to ingeniously eliminate enemies. The experience system involving performing special challenges during missions is also interesting. As befits an RPG, there is a lot of exploration of different realms, but it is combat that is the main course in Iron Danger.
