Help will Come Tomorrow is a Polish production, which receives quite good reviews, but unfortunately its premiere went a little unnoticed. The authors reached for the popular survivalist genre and combined it with a rather specific theme of the Bolshevik Revolution. The game follows the fate of several passengers who survived a train crash somewhere in the desert areas of Siberia. Not only do we have to deal with the cold, the weather or the lack of food, but also with the backstory of the characters. Different social classes and views will often be a source of conflict.
The game features more than just a story created by the developers. The game also tries to smuggle information out of this true story, which can be read in textbooks. Taking care of morale in the crew, food, and shelter, between the lines we learn something about the events and moods in Russia just before the great revolution. Although Help Will Come Tomorrow features fairly simple 2D visuals more reminiscent of illustrations from books, the developers managed to weave a dynamic weather system into the game, which greatly enhances the survival element. It's worth checking out how that worked in conjunction with the science of history.
You're going to like Help Will Come Tomorrow if:
- you're interested in Russian history;
- you like extraordinary survival games.
