The Pedestrian

The Pedestrian is an ingenious production combining platform and puzzle games elements. The game was created by independent studio Skookum Art, and although it was initially built as a side-project of a much smaller scale (with the title Bathroom Break), the development of which was to take no more than six months, it finally turned into a much larger production. At the same time, the developers tried to (via Kickstarter) get the money needed to complete work on it, but the crowdfunding campaign organized in 2017 ended in a fiasco (although not completely, since they managed to collect more than half of the estimated amount and, thus, arouse the interest of players).

Mechanics

In The Pedestrian, the action is shown from the side. During the game, we take control over the black character, who moves within road signs, information boards and screens. He jumps on platforms and avoids obstacles, as well as solves simple environmental puzzles or looks for hidden items that he needs for the further path.

However, this is not the end of our role, because the objects on which our little man runs and jumps have to be arranged and skillfully connected with each other. In this way, we allow the main character to move from one sign to another, or, for example, connect the screen to the power supply.

Technical aspects

The Pedestrian presents a unique approach to the graphics design. The gameplay takes place on all kinds of objects, the content of which is presented in the form of simple drawings and symbols. However, the background for them is full of details - from the streets, to the interiors of buildings, to the system of city channels.
