Hands Free Controller – NES. 15 weirdest game controllers ever created
Table of Contents
Yes, yet another NES controller... But it can't be otherwise, this console apparently caught the attention of a large number of tech manufacturers who were outdoing each other in inventing crazier and crazier controllers. Hands Free Controller was released by Nintendo in 1989. It was aimed at a group of disabled players, allowing them to play only with the use of their mouths. It was a great idea.
The Hands Free controller was steered with the mouth, allowing players to control their characters. The A and B buttons were replaced with with a special tube, and you could either inhale or exhale through it to obtain effects corresponding to the buttons. What makes Hands Free different from other NES inventions is that it actually worked decently and allowed playing games by people, who never had the possibility.
