This page describes one of the resources in Dune Spice Wars. You'll learn how to obtain Water and what to use it for. You'll also find some information on structures such as recycling vats and water extractors, as well as the Polar Sink region.
What is water?
Water is a necessary resource, no matter what. It's used to:
- maintain villages,
- maintain the army,
- trade with Sietches.
You can't take over cities if you don't have enough water. The Windtrap is a basic structure with a purpose of supplying you with water.
Each Windtrap provides +3 water for each level of wind in the region. You can check the level of wind in the region by clicking it. The wind strength is in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Some research projects, such as the Water Seller Contracts, can reduce your Water upkeep. Additionally, the Recycling Vats Base building grants you +5 Water for each building in the Base.
Running out of water causes Unrest and can trigger Rebellions in your villages, which will liberate themselves from your rule if you don't quench them.
Trading with Sietches
You can trade with Sietches or improve your relations with them by giving them 10 units of Water. This is a large amount, so you should always consider whether the alliance is worth it. In case of a water shortage, canceling trade with the Sietch should be your first step of damage control.
Water Extractor
Building a Water Extractor can be extremely tempting, as it grants you a staggering +50 Water. Unfortunately, you can only build it in a specific Special Region: the Polar Sink. You'll always find it in the center of the map, which means maintaining control of it is difficult and other factions will often want to own it.
