Landsraad Standing is one of the resources in Dune Spice Wars that affects your faction's political strength and provides several other bonuses. This page contains information on the gains obtainable via high Landsraad Standing and how to increase it.

What is Landsraad Standing?

Landsraad Standing is your political power. It affects bonuses to your:

  1. Votes (used when voting in Landsraad, renewed after voting),
  2. Hegemony,
  3. Influence production,
  4. Spice to Solari exchange rate (up to 20% with very high Standing).

You lose Standing by not paying the Imperial Tax in Solari. Not every faction has Landsraad Standing. Fremen and Smugglers do not have it (at least initially). The Atreides have the most Standing, starting at 200, while the Harkonnen start with 100. Smugglers gain 50 points of Standing after reaching 5,000 Hegemony and will get an immediate bonus if they paid their taxes regularly.

You will lose 10 points of Landsraad Standing when you attack an enemy Base. If you don't destroy it on the first try and make another attack, you will also lose another 10 points. Finally, you will lose about 50 more points when you deal with the enemy Base.

How to increase your Landsraad Standing?

Your Standing increases via contributng to the Landsraad and paying your taxes, but there's another way to increase it as well...

How can you lose Landsraad Standing?

There are a few ways to lose Standing:

  1. Breaking treaties - Non-Agression Pact and Military Pressure. Both are broken by attacking the faction you signed the treaty with (although you can still operate in their territory). This way you can enforce military neutrality on other factions.
  2. Not paying Imperial Taxes.
  3. Using an Atomic Bomb - this causes you to immediately lose 200 Standing.
  4. Solari deficit - if your Solari deposit drops below zero, you'll start gradually losing Landsraad Standing until you manage to get even.

What are the pros and cons of your Landsraad Standing?

Landsraad Standing:

0 points:

  1. -50% to the exchange rate with CHOAM,
  2. -100 Votes,
  3. -100% Influence production,
  4. Landsraad Troopers (Sardaukar) will attack you every 15 days.

1-99 points:

  1. -20% CHOAM Spice exchange rate,
  2. -40 Votes
  3. -5 Influence production.

100-199:

  1. -10% CHOAM Spice exchange rate,
  2. -20 Votes,
  3. -2 Influence production.

200-299:

  1. +200 Hegemony points

300-399:

  1. +10% CHOAM Spice exchange rate,
  2. +20 Votes,
  3. +2 Influence production,
  4. +600-800 Hegemony.

400-500:

  1. +20% CHOAM Spice exchange rate,
  2. +30 Votes,
  3. +3 Influence production,
  4. +1200-1400 Hegemony.

Summary: Landsraad Standing offers many benefits but isn't always worth investing too much into. Usually making sure not to lose it - by paying your taxes on time - should be enough to gain more and more.
