The Courtyard area is quite unique when it comes to Curio, as you won't find any of the "universal" ones that you can run into in the remaining places. The Courtyard gives you access to 9 different Curios that are unique to this place - you won't find them anywhere else. The following table presents all of the available objects, as well as possible interactions - with and without items.

As you can see, there aren't any Curios as punishing as the ones that can be found in different areas. There's no Curio that can increase the stress of the hero by 100 points or give an incredibly powerful debuff. However, it's still worth to use proper items to interact with them - doing so without any item can inflict Bleed or one of the diseases.
Obstacles
Aside from Curios there are two different types of obstacles that you can run into in the Courtyard - Crumbling Pillar and Shifting Mists. The first one is the typical obstacle you can find in other areas - you need to interact with it using a shovel, as otherwise the entire party will receive damage and stress damage (the light level won't decrease here). The bigger problem are the Shifting Mists. You can interact with it by using a Torch - if you activate it without an item, the party will receive damage, stress damage and will be teleported to a random (most probably explored) place in the dungeon.
