BioShock 2: Full list of trophies bioshock2 Guide
Last update: 23 May 2022
Earning all trophies in BioShock 2 can be a great challenge, especially if you don't plan to play the main story campaign more than once. Luckily, on this and the following pages of our game guide to BioShock 2 you will find a comprehensive trophy guide. It will allow you to acquire all achievements available in the game and unlock the platinum trophy.
BioShock 2: Highlights of trophies
- The number of trophies from the main set varies depending on the game version. The original 2010 edition of BioShock 2 has 51 achievements. Remaster from the BioShock: The Collection offers only 39 trophies. Multiplayer trophies have been removed from the renewed version. BioShock 2 Remaster doesn't have any multiplayer mode, and all available trophies are associated with single player mode only.
- There are three expansions sets available to BioShock 2 and each of them has their own set of trophies, which are not required to unlock the platinum trophy. These add-ons include - Protector Trials, Minerva's Den and Rapture Metro Pack - the latter is only available in the original game version.
- You can earn all primary trophies by playing the story campaign just once, but it may be a bit difficult. This is due to several factors. First of all, you have to finish the game at a high level of difficulty without using the Vita-Chamber capsules to resurrect your character. Another problem is associated with conducting research on your opponents - you have to make decent movies at every possible opportunity and try to get good scores.
- The platinum trophy is forcing you to save all Little Sisters. This means that you will have to defeat all Daddies and all Big Sisters - it can be a big challenge when playing at a high difficulty level. Luckily, you can prepare yourself for all battles (also in terms of setting traps) and additionally protect yourself by making manual saves.
- Do not kill important role-playing characters such as Grace, Stanley and Gil when playing the game. These people should be left alive as it is one of the achievements of the game.
- Unfortunately, in BioShock 2 you cannot return to the previous locations as you did in the first part of the series. You must examine each location very carefully and make sure that you have done 100% of the trophy-related activities. The convenience is that you can still manually save the game at any time. We recommend to decide on such a step shortly before reaching the next major level.
- BioShock 2 contains trophies related to collectibles and secrets. This is mainly associated with collecting audio diaries, but you also have to reach the weapon upgrade stations and unlock all plasmids. Check out our walkthrough and world atlas to make sure you find everything.
In BioShock 2, there is no exploit known from the first part of the series, consisting in changing the difficulty level just before the final subtitles are displayed. If you want to earn the platinum trophy, you have to legally finish the whole campaign at a high level of difficulty.
