Summary
One of the most important bonuses of the Delhi Sultanate are the free technology upgrades. The extended research time can be easily reduced with religious units placed in appropriate buildings. This is the only civilization that allows you to put religious units in all buildings. What's more, you can stop the ongoing research at any time. This is helpful if you need to focus on making new troops for a while. Other buildings built within the range of influence of a religious building may also get faster research depending on how many Scholars are in a given Mosque.
The next most important bonus of this civilization is the infantry's ability to construct defensive walls. This will keep your workers busy gathering resources and strengthening the economy. They will collect bigger harvest from berry bushes, and building mills next to them will turn them into orchards.
The core of the Delhi Sultanate army is the War Elephant. These powerful animals have a huge amount of health points, deal a lot of damage, and they also serve as siege units. Elephant hordes, supported by infantry can decimate the enemy army. Reaching the 4th era will reward you with unlocking an upgraded War Elephant.
The civilization's strong emphasis on research and defense will ensure that the Delhi Sultanate can become a dominant force only later in the game.
