This page of the guide explains how to unlock the Sandbox mode in Two Point Campus as well as the sub-modes and settings.
Unlocking Sandbox mode
To unlock Sandbox mode you must acquire a single star at the Noblestead campus (the fourth college available). Once you do, the Sandbox button will appear in the main menu. You can now fully enjoy the mode.
Acquiring a star in Noblestead isn't too difficult. The most time-consuming requirement is reaching 75% Attractiveness, though there is an easy way to do it. Enter Visualisation mode and set up decorations to mark as many areas as possible in green. This way you can quickly make your campus look more appealing.
Visualisation mode is also useful when checking other factors, such as student happiness and temperature. Remember to use it often.
Sub-modes
When entering Sandbox mode you must first choose one of the twelve available maps. They're identical to those you'll play through during the campaign. Then you must select a Sandbox mode. You can treat them similarly to difficulty levels.
There are 4 sub-modes to choose from:
- Standard - you start the game with 300,000 Money and 75 Course Points. Your campus will develop at a similar pace to those in the campaign mode. You'll unlock all the facilities and upgrades by playing through the game.
- Creative - all features are unlocked, you start the game with a ton of cash and Course Points. This mode lets you create the campus of your dreams without worrying about finances.
- Challenge - you start the game with 150,000 Money and 30 Course Points. Income is limited, you must also conduct research and spend Kudos to unlock facilities.
- Custom - this mode lets you set the difficulty to your liking, including the starting amount of money, income multipliers, presence and frequency of natural disasters, research necessity or automatically unlocking facilities.
