Defence structures and advanced crafting This War of Mine Guide

At this point you should get to furniture and devices from level two and three, but it would be wise not to left things unfinished and upgrade all the already crafted items to maximum - especially crude stove and metal workshop. Upgrading metal workshop will give you access to saw blade and hatchet. Saw blade unlocks access to many locations blocked with iron bars. Adding a third bed would be a good idea - you never know what might happen, it's good to be prepared for worst case scenarios. It's time to focus on defenses. A rested and well armed security guard and board up will greatly increase your chances against bandits, but it's good time to upgrade your crafting station to level three and invest in some enforced doors. After upgrading your crafting station to level two or higher it would be unwise to further expand into economics and trading while ignoring the defense aspects, so these investment are necessary. When you finish them, you can feel a bit safer and start creating next upgrades - herbal garden and herbal workshop. Both are connected to each other - garden creates herbals, which then you can use at the herbal workshop with other ingredients to create medicaments and smokes. While moonshire still was an optional investment, herbals related crafting is far more useful. Additionally, herbal garden allows to grow some vegetables and can greatly improve the amount of your food rations. To even further improve the amount of food gathered, you can place some traps for small animals (not more than two). After upgrading the crafting station to level three you gain access to three items from a new category. Heat lamp and mixer helps with farming and crafting while thermo regulator is useful for two reasons - to improve effectiveness of your simple heater and to build an alcohol distiller.
