Combat | Night trips This War of Mine Guide

If it gets to combat, then you must do everything to win. Enemy won't show you mercy, so you shouldn't be merciful to him as well. What matter is survival of your group, even if it comes with the cost of other people. To fight, you must change mode from gathering to any of available weapon (orange stripes on the left side of the screen) and then attack enemy by clicking a respective action symbol. After that, every next hit might be dealt by simply clicking at enemy. Fighting is quite simple when using melee weapons, but it's bit different with guns. Your character shoots exactly where you click. You can improve your chances of winning by hiding behind obstacles and shooting from there. It works best when you are hiding behind doors. After eliminating your enemies - or innocent victims - you should loot them and take their weapons and ammunition. Creating your own weapons is very time consuming and hard, so weapons gathered from fallen enemies are very precious.
Time for searching the city is limited and ends at 5:00 a.m. You must end all your activities around 3:00 or 4:00 and quickly evacuate back to your hideout (by clicking an escape symbol on the left or the screen or by moving to one of the exits). Otherwise, your character will be forced to return during the day, which is far more dangerous.
Fighting with multiple enemies isn't easy, but there are a couple of tricks that can make things a bit easier. If you have a knife or a spade, you can hide in dark nooks (marked with special icons). If an enemy approaches you, it's possible to get an instakill without the need to fight them at all.
You can lure enemies in just by running around the chosen hiding spot. The enemy will surely come to investigate, giving you a chance to do them in. You actually can clear an entire location without losing a single health point.
