Horses are one of the basic means of transport in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Below you will find information about traveling across the vast map of the kingdom of Hyrule, and you will learn how to tame horses.
Horse riding
Just like in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, in Tears of the Kingdom you can travel around the game world on a horse. This means of transport significantly speeds up exploration and getting from one point to another.
Although there are various types of vehicles available in the game that you can build with the Ultrahand skill, it is not a good idea to completely abandon the horse. Land vehicles are larger than the pet and getting into tight places with them might prove problematic. A horse, in turn, allows for greater freedom in moving around narrow locations.
It is also possible to fight from the horse's back. You can mount both melee and ranged attacks. This way of fighting will provide you with a bit of advantage. Also, in case of trouble, you will be able to quickly move away from enemies to a safe distance .
How to tame horses?
Taming horses works the same as in Breath of the Wild. You must sneak up on the horse from behind and then follow the instructions on the screen. The more difficult the horse to tame, the more stamina you will need. Remember that, during taming, you can consume potions or foods that restore stamina. The best way to have a large amount of stamina is by acquiring Lights of Blessing which increase the stamina bar.
Tamed horses can then be registered at stables scattered all over the map. Thanks to this, you will be able to leave your horses in safe places and use a different stable to summon a horse.
