Power of memories
The second chapter of Tell Me Why begins with several important memories. In the beginning, you'll see a short cut-scene in which the siblings tell a story. They summarize events that took place in the near past.
Then you'll see some memories that relate to the day everything began. The siblings first remember dinner with their mother and a delicious ice cream dessert. After they finish eating, they go to bed, where they hear a story.
The last memories of that fateful night will be from Alyson's perspective. She will remember her brother's cry and their mother's death.
A new beginning
After a series of memories, you'll see a cut scene of the siblings playing together. They will be fragments from childhood as well as scenes from the present day. The twins are content with each other's company and enjoying their time together.
Even though Tyler will be thinking about a book found in his mother's stuff, Alyson forces him to get to work. The siblings have to take care of cleaning the apartment.
Housekeeping
After all the memories are finished, you'll be playing as Alyson. Go straight to the laundry. You don't have to examine anything there. The girl will tell you everything here is to be thrown away, so you can just stick a note on the door. That's how you mark this room and look for other rooms.
Let's move to the bathroom now. There's one small choice waiting for you here. Get close to the cupboard to the left of the sink. A quick conversation will lead to a decision:
- Fair enough;
- We could clean it up.
Time to go to the living room. Let's start with the solid wooden table. You can:
- Keep;
- Trash;
- Sell.
Right under the table there is a figurine. You can easily get it by peering under a wooden top.
There are also photographs in the living room. When you start looking at them, Tyler will come to you and can remember a few moments together. When you get away from the pictures at home, there are a few memories you can recall. One of them will be about fishing. Tyler will laugh at his sister's poor fishing skills.
As you proceed you can turn your attention to the rug. Alyson will immediately mention the spilled tea. Tyler asks if mom yelled at her for it. They both decide that she didn't. That way, they will understand that before the fateful night their mother did not have sudden outbursts of anger.
You can go upstairs before cleaning the kitchen. Before entering the room, look at some toys, recall some memories, and talk to your brother. You can yell at him from the upper floor and laugh at him a little bit.
In the children's room, you can find some letters and twins' old notes. However, they do not affect the game's plot.
Time for the kitchen. Let's start with the wooden table. You can:
- Keep;
- Trash;
- Sell.
If you grab the old goblin drawing from the kid's room, you can stick it on your brother's back.
While exploring the kitchen, you can look into the fridge. It's the perfect opportunity to offer your brother a sandwich with ketchup, which he will not want.
Once you've thrown things out of the kitchen, go back to the living room. There's a coffee table waiting for you that needs cleaning. Remove the things, and Tyler will wipe the dust.
The next thing you can do is take a break. Just go to the fireplace and warm your hands. Your brother will offer to share a drink. You have a choice:
- Coffee;
- Tea.
The choice doesn't have a big impact on the game, but we can tell you that Tyler prefers to have a cup of tea.
The last thing you do in the apartment is looking at old drawings. They will help you bring back memories. All you have to do is watch them closely, and one of the scarier memories will appear in front of your eyes.
