Anti-Air Units in Steel Division 2 Steel Division 2 guide, tips
Last update: 21 August 2019
The main role of anti-air units is to combat enemy aircraft. Most of these units will suppress the morale of the pilots, but their large number or more advanced versions can easily shoot down even the nimblest aircraft. This unit can engage with light enemy troops, such as infantry or trucks, and effectively suppress the morale of such troops. However, they often suffer a quick and shameful defeat in a battle with tanks.
Anti-Aircraft Gun
These are the main defense units against enemy aviation units. They usually have small-caliber guns that deter enemy aircraft. They can easily hide - do this by placing them in forests or between buildings. This category also offers powerful guns such as Flak 88, which will easily shoot down even large bombers. Their other advantage is that they have a cannon that can be used in two ways. This unit has AP ammunition and is able to destroy tanks from 2 kilometers. It is always useful to have several anti-aircraft guns in your army and set them in the rear.
A good idea is to create a "safe zone" for your anti-tank guns, artillery positions or near infantry or tank groups. Thanks to this, the opponent will have problems with attacking of your positions from the air.
SP Anti-Aircraft Gun
These units are mainly mobile platforms for standard anti-aircraft guns. Some are mounted on conventional trucks, others on armored vehicles. The most efficient vehicles have very powerful weapons or are a variation of tanks with a turret, although with anti-aircraft weapons, such as Wirbelwind or Crusader AA series vehicles. They are expensive but they are the only ones that can shoot down enemy planes alone.
