2-ya Gvard. Tankovy. Korpus | Allied divisions in Steel Division 2 Steel Division 2 guide, tips

Last update: 20 August 2019

Tankovy Korpus is a strong division, which is fully based on tanks and armored units. Despite the full use of armored vehicles, the division still has strong support from infantry and artillery. The biggest problem is the small number of reconnaissance units. Without them, tanks will be blind and can be eliminated without any combat. Despite the small number of recon units, several interesting units can be added to a battle group. Among others, a combat vehicle BA-10M, has a good cannon with a large number of AP missiles. Also, you have at your disposal T-34/76 Razvedka T-34/76, which has the same features as the usual T-34, but has a great optics. It's the perfect support unit for an armored strike team.

Tank T34/85 in the version from 1943 (right) and from 1944 (left) is the basic unit of this battle group. It has a good armor, a cannon and is available in large quantities.

The main pillar of this division are tanks, which can be formed from a huge number of inexperienced recruits, or veterans in a smaller group, but still with a large overall number of units. In this division you will find three types of medium tanks: Old T-34/76 with average statistics, but quite low price and strong T-34/85 in 1943 and 1944 version. Newer models have better front armor and a stronger cannon with a great 145mm penetration. What's more, you have a total of 9 T-43/85 cards at your disposal so you can either flood your opponent with hordes of tanks, or decide on recruiting veterans and get the same number of tanks as other divisions.

Another advantage is a decent infantry for an armored division. You have Gvardyia and Tankodeantniki units at your disposal. The Gvardyia units are classic units with mixed equipment - machine guns and automated rifles. On the other hand, airmen have PPSH-41 pistols, which are deadly for a very short distance of 100 meters. Additionally, they have smoke grenades. You can add up to 7 types of troops with a relatively low activation cost to your division.

It is worth mentioning a unique unit from the support category - ISU-152. It's a powerful infantry support cannon, but it also has AP ammunition to destroy multiple armored vehicles. You can use this cannon to eliminate minor targets, i.e. mainly infantry. In the anti-tank category you have a SU-85, which is a mobile anti-tank gun with an average armor, but very good penetration. It is worth mentioning that the division has a powerful artillery unit - the BM-13 Katyusha rocket launcher. A single volley can suppress the morale of many units in a large area and even destroy entire teams and vehicles of the opponent.

The weakest link in this division is the anti-aircraft defense, which is pretty low. Apart from the expensive American M17, all the rest of units in this category are very weak and barely able to stop the pilots of enemy machines. The small amount of reconnaissance units you can summon to the battlefield is also a major drawback. Your tanks need targets to destroy and have very poor optics, which makes it difficult for them to detect anything. Although you will rely on numerous tanks, don't forget to support them with scouts or infantry troops.
