Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void - system requirements | Achievements - Into the Void SC II: Legacy of the Void Guide

Last update: 11 May 2016

Legacy of the Void requires a low-end PC. 2 GB of minimum and 4 GB of recommended RAM memory is not much today. The required processor is available on the marked since 5 years and the graphic card since much longer. The recommended computer requires few year younger parts, but they are still in reach of an average gamer. A hardware that can be hardly called modern is needed to fully enjoy the game.

Legacy of the Void works most of the time fluently in 1920x1080 resolution and graphics set on high. The game slowed down during some campaign missions due to the large number of scripts activated at the same time or when there were more than 200 units fighting at once on the screen. Smaller troubles were also observed in online mode caused by players with slower connection or in game modes that encouraged building large armies. On ultra level the slowdowns become much more plain, but they still weren't big enough to make the game uncomfortable.

The game requires you to register on the Battle.net platform, but it also allows to play the game alone, with no other people. The game requires you to activate the service, but it allows partially continuing the single player game even after the connection to the servers were lost. In online mode the game offers cooperation mode, battles with AI, battles for up to 8 players in team and all against all modes, ranking mode and large set of minigames created by users. The game requires keyboard and mouse to be controlled.

Game modes

Singleplayer: Yes

Offline cooperation (split screen/hot seat): No

Multiplayer: Up to 2 players in cooperation mode, up to 8 players in team and all-against-all mode and up to 12 in various minigames available through the Battle.net.

Our hardware

The guide was created on a PC of below specification:

OS: Windows 7 SP1

Processor: AMD Athlon II X3 460 3.40 GHz

RAM memory: 16 GB

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6700

GPU memory: 1 GB

The game worked with no trouble in 1920x1080 resolution and graphics set on high level, both in full screen and windowed mode. In both cases the game allowed using the ALT-TAB shortcut and later returning to the game with no quality drops or errors. The only trouble occurred during large battles with more than 200 various units participating at once and during highly scripted campaign scenarios.
