Use Kerrigan's attacks to kill all void thrashers in the first part of the mission. After a cutscene the map will change.
In this mission you will control terran forces. The zerg had built a base on the east [2] and protoss on the south [3]. Your common objective is to protect Kerrigan [1]. She has many health points and is able to protect herself, but using her in battle will stop the counter visible in the upper right corner of the screen. This means that the more often you use Kerrigan to repel enemy attacks, the longer the mission will take.
At the start of the mission you will be informed that your allies will not survive without help and it will quickly prove to be true. The enemy will be attacking very frequently with large groups and from time to time he will perform a massive attacks that will be hard to repel. Void thrashers who will have to be destroyed by Kerrigan will regularly appear on the map as well. Because of the hard situation, it will not be profitable to leave the territory marked by three bases. Don't even think about gathering the resources scattered across the map. Not only your units will get hurt, but you will also quickly find buildings and units of the enemy. In order to gather resource containers you would have to send a larger group of units, and these units will be much more needed to protect the bases.
You can complete this mission in few ways. The best option will be doing what terran do the best, which is focusing on the defense. Four entrances lead to Kerrigan - two on the west [4][5], one on the east [6] and one on the south [7]. You must build strong fortifications in all of them and defend them until the transfer ends. On the normal difficulty level the enemies will use only these paths, making the defending much easier.
At both western entrances [4][5] you will find one bunker and infantry. The upper one is additionally protected by the siege tank. Build additional bunkers at both of them (one will be enough at the beginning, then you can add another one) and fill them with full crews. Both places should be protected by two siege tanks. In both there should also be one SCV in order to quickly repair the damage. It is best to give him order to patrol the area behind the bunker. When the aerial units will become trouble, add one or two anti-aircraft turrets. Quickly start mining resources in point [8], you will need them soon.
The western entrance [7] will be protected by protoss units and turrets, but there will be definitely not enough of them. Build four bunkers there and fill them with infantry. Place few siege tanks behind the buildings and give one of the SCV an order to patrol the area. If one SCV will prove to be not enough, send another one. The same goes for the western fortifications [4][7]. The bunkers can be positioned in two ways - either next to photon cannons, thanks to what terran and protoss will support each other with fire, or slightly behind the photon cannons, thanks to what the terran will fight once the first line of protoss will fall. Select a method which you will decide is better. In case of trouble with flying units, build more anti-aircraft turrets.
The main problem on the east [8] will be creep that makes it impossible to construct buildings. Luckily, you will not need them, as all you need to send there is few siege tanks. Place them and observe as they eliminate enemies from long distance. You can also support them with one SCV in order to quickly repair any damage. However, it is not mandatory, as terran mechanic units, in difference to the buildings, will slowly regain their durability on their own. In addition to that, the tanks in the zerg base should be rarely attacked due to the cover of buildings and zerg units. Thanks to that, their repair will be needed rarely, in best case never.
Dividing your forces into four remote frontlines means large costs. Most of all, be ready to build many supply depots. These buildings will not be constructed fast, but their total cost will quickly prove to be painful to your wallet. In addition to that, placing buildings and turrets and training the infantry and siege tanks will cost you plenty of resources. Due to that, you must very quickly place the second base [8] and mine as many resources and gas as you can.
You must also remember about regularly checking the frontlines. You must rebuild bunkers and turrets and send new tanks into most dangerous locations. The task of placing new bunkers and turrets will become the burden of the SCV available at the fortifications. Don't send new ones, let the rest focus on gathering resources. Later in the game you can also start building thors which will be effective in combat against enemy land and aerial units. Instead of thors you can also use the battlecruisers if you prefer aerial units. Keep upgrading the weapon and armor of your units and buildings. You should use all your supplies. If you decide that you need more of resources, get rid of some of SCV. But don't overdo it, as you will still need many resources. You can also use the supply depots as defensive walls, this will prove to be very effective when combined with siege tanks. If the situation becomes very dire, use Kerrigan's help.
The rest of the mission will not differ from other defensive missions. The enemy will not use elaborate tactics or try to attack from unexpected directions. Except for the appearances of void thrashers, the attacks will come always from the same four directions [9-12] and they will only differ in number of opponents. Keep attention to the state of your fortifications, rebuild the destroyed ones and construct new buildings. Make sure that you have siege tanks positioned everywhere and that the bunkers are full of infantry and you will surely win. Definitely don't try to create your defenses only on units, especially on aerial units. Due to the number and strength of enemy attacks, it will be simply not profitable. Terrans are race focused on defense, it is wise to use that fact for your advantage.
