Mission 7 - Suganuma Village | Walkthrough Shadow Tactics Guide

In this task you will have to free Mugen and the villagers. You will command Yuki and Takuma (1). Not only is this a considerable handicap, but the weather conditions and the terrain won't make things any easier either. The rain is pouring and there's a lot of damp fields and puddles. Sneaking in this sort of terrain produces noise. There are also fields of rice grown on terraces, and the farmers working there will notice you if you come to close, even when sneaking. You have to get to Mugen (2). Then you should retrieve his armor (3). After that, you can free the villagers (4), and leave the area.
You begin on a sequence of fields. You shouldn't try to eliminate the enemies for now - it's easier and safer to simply avoid them. Go behind the first guard and use the ladder to hide in the fields. Sneak by the guards until you manage to reach the edge of the field. Remember to keep your distance. The area is damp and pretty noisy. Keep your eyes on the enemies to be able to adjust your path. When you get to the end, and the guards aren't looking, run towards the crates. Place Kuma between the two houses so that the guard on the ladder is in range. When you manage to lure him, take the ladder and stand behind the home on the left (if you're using the default view).
You ought to get rid of the samurai when the patrol goes past the building. Place Takuma at the far, upper corner and get ready to shoot. Yuki should be ready to close in and attack him when he's stunned. The Shadow Mode, in which you can plan the actions of both characters, should make it all easier. Now it's time to get to Mugen. There are four guards patrolling the area and they have to be taken down. First, take down the guard on the roof near the big bush. Set a trap or sneak up on him from behind. The last one goes up and down the latter leading to the tower - when he's down, lure him behind the crates. Shoot the samurai with Takuma. Get on the roof of one of the buildings and use pistos. Place Yuki right behind the samurai, so she can immediately join the action. You can now free Mugen.
First, get rid of a guard patrolling the area near the houses. Take position on the embankment and lure him with the flute, kill him from above when he approaches and hide the body (1). Now, approach the samurai with Mugen. When the guard below goes away from the equipment, hit the samurai with a fist and drag him away (2). Lay him on the ground and kill him with Yuki's dagger (3). Then, place Kima so it can lure the enemies close to the cliff and tell Mugen to drop the nearby rock at them, just watch out for your pet. If you lose it here, you'll be unable to rely on the Tanuki for the rest of the mission. While you're here, you can make things a bit easier for yourself. Get rid of the guard patrolling the area nearby. Use a sake bottle and place a trap with Yuki in the same spot. With two swords, you should also eliminate the group of soldiers and then get rid of the bodies.
Go back to the place where Mugen was held and hide in the bushes below the guarded entrance to the village. There are three rocks lying there. Take one into the bushes and make your samurai crouch there. Place Kuma under the bushes, as far from the road as possible, but within the range of the three-person patrol. When they approach, throw the rock at them and get rid of the bodies (1). Take Yuki below to eliminate the remaining enemies on your way out. First - the rifleman on the tower, then the other one, near the building, and finally the third one, near the fortifications (2). The last two bodies have to be hidden in a building.
It's time to enter to the village. First, let Yuki go left and use the hook to climb the roof of the building and get to the other side. From the protruding beam, jump onto the guard below and hide the body. While dealing with the two samurais, remember to take down the one on the left first, since he's beyond the other's range of sight. Do that after the patrol goes past them too. You can take them down with Takuma's musket or Yuki's melee attack, or alternatively use Mugen's cannon. Now get rid of the first patrol (samurai + an opponent). You can hide and attack them from up close, or use the pistols and the cannon. Do this near the entrance to the village. Eliminate the other group with Mugen's two swords and take down any remaining opponents. After freeing the villagers, leave the village.
Patrols coming back to the village will stand in your way - they're anxious so they've secured the only entrance to the village. Send Takuma onto tower and Mugen and Yuki all the way around to where you've found the armor. If you've cleared the area from the enemies before, the thing will be a walk in the park. First, lure the guard near the wagon (1). Now take the team to the next wagon. Play flute to lure the enemies from the road, and hide underneath the small wagon. When the enemies come, use Mugen's two swords to get rid of them (2). Now, take down the officer that's blocking the entrance to the village (3). If you still have bullets, you can eliminate the remaining enemies. You can now leave.
Badges and achievements
Finish the mission without retrieving Mugen's equipment. This makes the mission a bit more complicated but not impossible to finish. Mugen can still stun the enemies and Yuki can finish them using the dagger. Not having a bottle of sake can be a little bit troublesome but you can use Yuki's flute or Kuma to distract the enemies.
Save the villagers before you save Mugen. It is extremely hard to reach the villagers using the main entrance (there are 2 samurai). It is better to use the side path which is guarded by two straw hats and finish your enemies there. There are 3 samurai in the village that you have to get rid of (one is on a patrol with a guard, the second is watching over a group of villagers and the last one is watching over a single farmer).
Kill 4 enemies with one grenade. You can lure normal enemies using Kuma and then throw a grenade (although the animal will become unavailable till the end of the mission). You can also drop a body and wait for the enemies to come and check it or attack a group of them (i.e. a patrol of 3 enemies is walking along the main road and they are passing by a samurai standing in front of a small building).
Do not walk on surfaces that makes noises. There are not only puddles but also fields. Almost all of the terrain in this mission will make noise.
