Mission 13 - Sunpu Castle | Walkthrough Shadow Tactics Guide

It is time for the ultimate challenge. You've received a green light to kill Lord Naboru. Your team is split into two pairs (1). First, you need to get a key (2), which will open the entrance to the undergrounds (3). Only then will you be able to get to the inner courtyard and the castle (4).

First, send Yuki and Aiko on the nearby tower. Wait for the straw hat to walk away. Jump down from the tower, blind the guard before you and run as fast as you can to the wagon an boxes (then start sneaking) (1). Now, stand behind the mule and blind the guard by the stables. Run behind the building in front of which there is a samurai. Walk around the building and dash toward the bush, and then use the hook to climb up the gate (2). Now, jump down, cross the road and climb up the ladder on the small roof. Stand on the very edge of the stables. Once there, help Yuki make it up the same way Aiko just did (3).

Now, move the two characters back to get on the gate's roof. Send one of them down, move toward the tower and eliminate the shooter posted up there. Now you can clear the lower area off enemies using Hayato and Takuma. The hardest part is getting to the gate. First, get rid of the guard in the north from the gate under the tree, who occasionally goes away to take a leak. Let Yuki or Aiko eliminate the civilian who is carrying boxes. Get Aiko ready to blind the samurai stationing there. Before doing that, approach the small wall near the samurai - this is beyond the field of vision of the straw hat shooter and the samurai patrolling the area. When the latter starts walking away, blind the samurai, and make Hayato run toward the straw hat and kill him with a shuriken. Quickly pick up his body and leave it under the wall. Now you can send Hayato and Takuma to the gate. There is still a 3-men patrol and 3 soldiers on the training ground to eliminate.

From the tower proceed into the garden. First, lure the opponent under the tower using the flute. He will climb up the tower. Now, send Hayato and Aiko down. Then, take both enemies down at the same time and dispose of their bodies. Best do it when the samurai stands in the center of the garden and starts observing the area. Next, take out the shooters on the tower and in front of the gate. Lastly, eliminate the samurai and get the disguise for Aiko - she will need that a lot. Head toward the wall on the west.

Send disguised Aiko through the gate. Distract the guard on the small courtyard with a civilian and two guards are roaming about on one side and the third guard on the other side. There is a scaffold there, which Yuki and Hayato can use to take the two guards down. The only thing left now is to get rid of the patrol walking along the road. Distract them as Aiko. Use the shadow mode to eliminate the entire group.

Disguised Aiko can take out the straw hat, when nobody is looking at him. After that, let her distract another straw hat, when he approaches the gate (1). Yuki should set a trap and lure two guards to it (2), if one should survive the ambush, he can be taken down with a shuriken. Now, send everyone toward the end of the hedge (3) and start sneaking by the wall on the very edge of the enemy's line of sight - when you cross it, you will have to make a run for it in order to avoid detection (4). Go through the bushes toward the well and first use the character with the key, and only then have other characters follow.

You are now in the inner courtyard of the castle. Lure the two patrolling guards using Kuma or the flute and eliminate them. Distract the opponent on the bench as Aiko so that the rest could sneak past him. Now, set the entire team in front of the entrance to the courtyard. Use a stun grenade and start sneaking as Yuki and Aiko so to drag the samurai bodies into the corner. Get the third one there too, and kill them all. While disguised Aiko is talking to one of the two guards, send Hayato upwards, so to eliminate the straw hat patrolling the area and then the rest of the enemies.

It's time for the final part of the mission. Send three of your heroes up on the shed, then on the wall, and approach the estate from behind. Start climbing while avoiding enemy field of vision. Keep pressing on until you get to the last but one obstacle. There are two patrolling samurais on the balconies on both sides. You can only sneak past the one on the right (using the default camera setting). Jump behind the samurai's back, jump down on the roof and use the hook to climb up higher. Now, just watch the final cut-scene.

Badges and achievements

Do not kill anyone in the garden. You can get it in the place where you have to get the key from the samurai. You can steal it by using Yuki's abilities. To help her, Aiko and Hayato need to get the enemies' attention.

Drown Lord Noboru. When you get on the top of the tower and watch the cut-scene do not kill Lord Noboru but, instead, knock him out. Now start dropping his body down from the rooftop till he drops on stone ledges on the back of the mansion. Remember that you can drop the body on, i.e. the samurai on the balcony to stun him for a while. Now keep going lower and lower until you can throw Noboru into the water. His death was shameful and you will complete this achievement.
