In this chapter of the Phasmophobia guide, you will learn how to complete the training - one of the first missions that every novice ghost hunter should participate in.

The training mission in Phasmophobia is an excellent way to learn the main mechanics of the game or how to use basic items that can determine the presence of a ghost on the map as well as its type. The training mission was divided into several stages – you should go through them all.

Starting the mission

The training mission in Phasmophobia starts in a trailer truck - a mobile command center of ghost hunters. You will find here, e.g. specialized equipment that can reveal a ghost's activity, a device that measures the level of readability of your character, a screen that monitors the level of ghost's activity, a map of the building, as well as items necessary for completing the mission.

Before you get out of the truck, read the information that was left for you on the whiteboard (the rooms haunted by a ghost are important), take the key that lies next to the computer, and enter the house.

The TV in the living room is on - scroll through all the slides to find out what to do, and then try to get 3 pieces of evidence that will help you discover what type of ghost haunts this building.

Video Camera - Ghost Orb evidence

The first stage of the investigation is to obtain Ghost Orb evidence – you will need a video camera. Go back to the truck, get the equipment you need, and head to the haunted room.

To use the camera correctly, turn it on (RMB by default), then turn it around (LMB by default) and place it in the right spot. Before leaving the room, be sure to turn the light off - otherwise, you will not get any evidence. Get back in the truck.

Use your mouse to switch the view to the camera you just set up in the room, and switch it to night view. If you spot a small glowing ball levitating on the screen, you'll get your first clue - Ghost Orb.

Ghost Writing Book evidence

The second step of the Phasmophobia training mission is to see if the ghost has the ability to interact with the special book. If you place this object near a ghost, it will be able to write or draw something. Leave the book for a while and proceed to the next step of the investigation.

Talking to a ghost - Spirit Box evidence

Spirit box is a specialized device for capturing radio frequencies that allow you to talk to ghosts and ask them questions. By getting an answer, you can get important evidence that will help you complete the investigation.

When a Spirit Box is near a ghost, you will be able to ask it a question. Something simple like "where are you?" or "how old are you?". If the ghost responds to your call, you will hear a clear response that will also appear on the device's display.

Freezing Temperatures evidence

Freezing Temperatures in Phasmophobia can be measured in two ways. The first is to use a thermometer, which can show a reading in Celsius or Fahrenheit - it depends on the settings in the game. To get evidence, the device must read a temperature below 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). You don't have access to the thermometer during the training mission, so you have to get evidence in a different way.

Go back to the ghost room and walk around it carefully, making stops every 2-3 meters. When you notice that mist is coming out of your character's mouth while breathing, it means that the room is freezing (below 0 degrees Celsius) – you can record this evidence in your journal.

UV Torch - Fingerprints evidence

The next step in the training mission is to use ultraviolet (UV Light) – it can help you find fingerprints or handprints that a ghost can (but does not have to) leave in the area in which it resides.

Look for fingerprints or whole handprints on doors (usually in the middle), windows, and light switches. Fingerprints aren't always visible immediately after starting the mission. If you did not manage to find them on the first attempt, you should look for them again after a few minutes.

EMF Reader - EMF Level 5 evidence

An EMF reader is a device that detects fluctuations in the electromagnetic field. The beep coming from this device will be amplified depending on the distance between the player and the ghost. The EMF reader can be turned on and placed on the ground, but be careful not to make it fall over. When you read EMF level 5, you will find evidence that you can note in your journal.

Photos - additional funds

You can receive additional money for taking specific photos with the camera – you will get the money after completing the mission. The player is rewarded for documenting the following things and phenomena:

1. Fingerprints;
2. Moving objects (objects manipulated by the ghost);
3. Overturned or displaced objects;
4. Dirty water;
5. Body of a killed person;
6. Bone;
7. Voodoo Doll;
8. Capturing a photo of a ghost.

During the training mission, you can not get any additional funds for the photos taken. However, you should try looking for paranormal phenomena and make a habit of documenting them. During a normal mission, each photo will get you extra $10.

Ending the mission

Be sure to mark all the evidence in your journal. You should also make sure that you have marked what type of ghost is haunting the building.

It is easy to forget about this. However, when doing a regular mission, all evidence you collect can give you extra funds which you can spend on better gear.

To complete the training mission in Phasmophobia, go to the panel with numbers in the truck and close the door. After a short while, you will be taken to the hunters' main room. There you will check your results. You don't receive any rewards for completing the training mission.
