Yokai Form in NiOh 2 NiOh 2 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 10 March 2020
On this page of the NiOh 2 guide, you will learn more about Yokai transformations and Yokai skills.
In NiOh 2, our character is half-human, half-Yokai. This means that the player can become a Yokai for a brief moment and gain special attacks. There are 3 types of Yokai: Brute, Feral, and Phantom. Each of them has special properties and either a shorter or longer Burst Counter animation. For example, Feral can also deal normal damage with a mace during a successful counter, but the counter's animation is slightly longer and the Feral's attacks are slightly slower. Phantom deals KI damage and its counter activates immediately. Phantom's attacks are very fast, and it can teleport to enemies.
Speaking of the Yokai Shifts, we can't forget about the skills. From time to time, we can receive a Yokai core from defeat demons. These cores can be equipped at a shrine. Each core allows you to use the skill of the defeated Yokai in battle. You can improve the skills by combining souls, or sacrifice them. We activate these skills by pressing R2 and square/triangle. Each use costs a few Anima points.
