Speedrun | Event types NfS: Most Wanted Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Speedrun is a difficult event that requires of you the ability to control your car at high speeds. . Just like in the case of the ambush mode, also here there are predefined thresholds that qualify you for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. This time, however, this is about the mean speed of the vehicle, and not time. Target times are displayed before the event starts, and in the upper-right corner of the screen. Your results are taken as you go, and they appear on the "flag" on the car's left. If the stripe on the "flag" turns left, it means that your mean speed does not qualify you for the podium. . It is not a big deal, however, if you are still far enough from the finishing line and you can improve your performance. The modifications that work best with this event, are the ones that increase max speed and car's maneuverability. The track here is delineated similarly to the "quick race" mode, but there are no time limits that you need to reach so, whenever possible, you can extend it. When you notice e.g. a slide to another lane of the motorway, which is a bit longer than the default one, you can take it in order to improve your overall performance. The most important thing about speedruns is to avoid crashes. Very often it is a better idea to slow down, in order to go around the obstacle, than to crash into it and worsen your results. That is why swerving around police cars is so important for this event.
